Sadly for me Mavi is a phattu bowler, he will be a letdown as far as bowling with pace. He had the capacity but doesn't have the conviction or courage, in the long run he will lose out because of his mindset. We have better option then him, I might be wrong but that is what I see.

Think we have to give Nagarkoti and Mohsin khan chance immediately when they are fit as they both can be the 2 fast bowlers, who could maybe turn into allrounders as they both can bat well, I am told

He seems to have progressed, bowling good line, with movement and pace, was in U19, also seems to have gained height

In terms of player pool, domestic setup and talent we should rule world cricket comfortably, what we are seeing is that we are falling behind in T20 and ODI. Despite of IPL and Syed Mushtaq Ali we still have more or less the same 16 players more or less playing in all 3 formats, our T20 style of play is more like ODI cricket which slightly works for us in Australia but overall, we are short of the best. Selectors are not doing their job, especially the current lot is very poor, we need to move to different coach and management for white ball and red ball cricket and this will hopefully let us select better teams as well. Our T20 teams should have youngsters who can play at the pace that Surya does who clearly is the only good T20 player we have as far as a batter. We do need consolidators who can hold the innings and then play a big innings like Kohli, but there can be only one or max 2 players unlike our team which has 3 to 4 players who are slow starters. My T20 team will be Samson Kohli Rohit Pant Surya Iyer Tewatia/Tripathy V Iyer/Pandya Axar/Hooda Chahal/ KYadav Umran/Sen Bumrah/Shami Mohsin DK has been a mental midget for a decade and bringing him back, having a slow starter like KL who only scores in non-important games, Ashwin in t20 doesn't add up as well, future of the game is guys like Brevis.

Think there is a big reason for this, the knowledge of bio mechanics among youngsters and coaches, also sports is much more attractive and with IPL rewards. Earlier few people took up fast bowling unless they had required physical traits per old school of thought. India is under utilizing its talent and had been for quite a long time, smaller centers and teams are now more visible and players getting more exposure helps a lot. For me Umran Malik Kuldeep Sen is a must looking at the future, every team needs enforcers, who can scare with pace and run through line ups, skill bowlers who can bowl like Shami and Steyn. Nagarkoti and Mavi hopefully are not wasted like Varun Aaron and Sudeep Tyagi. Mohsin, Dayal, Khalil if he has made mental adjustments, Umran, Kuldeep Sen, Mavi should be in our selectors radar for grooming to replace existing bowlers.
