Shashank Manohar has been formally elected BCCI president at the board's special general meeting (SGM) in Mumbai on Sunday. Soon after, at his first press conference, he announced a wide range of measures to tackle various critical issues facing the board, including conflict of interest, corruption in cricket, the lack of transparency in the board's operations and financial accountability of the state associations.

His overall message was clear: "Nothing is wrong in the board." The problem, he said, was one of perception, created by the lack of information flowing from the board. "Therefore, to clear that myth and change the perception, we would [implement the changes] immediately," he said. How immediate? "In two months' time all these things about which I have spoken will be implemented in full force

Shashank Manohar's son resigns from BCCI panels

Minutes after Shashank Manohar was formally elected unopposed as the BCCI president at Sunday's Special General Meeting (SGM) in Mumbai, his son Adwait resigned from the two sub-committees he had been part of since the last AGM in March.

"I have emailed my resignation from the marketing and legal committees to BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur," Adwait, who is a wildlife enthusiast, told TOI from Bandipur National Park where he has been holidaying for the past five days.

"It wouldn't have been proper for me to continue on the two committees when my father is at the helm of the BCCI," said Adwait, clearly suggesting that he did not want to be seen as someone with a conflict of interest - an issue that has been plaguing Indian cricket following the IPL scam.

Adwait is a vice-president of the Vidarbha Cricket Association where his father enjoyed two terms as president - 1997-99 and 2001-09.

I hope Mr Roger Binny follows too. A selector father when son is playing cricket at the 'top' level.Mr.binny ...please follow and resign.Let your son float or sink on his own steam.http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/74984/indian-cricket-board-president-shashank-manohars-son-resigns-from-bcci-panels

This traitor gave us a green top in Nagpur '04 against Aussies to go one up against the Dalmiya camp(under instructions from Pawar of course). With such people at the helm how on earth can we ever be a top side?

Yes...I remember that. How he wanted to score political points...at the behalf of Indian team. Heck...Nagpur should not host any Test/ODI. People don't go to watch anything there. Only T20 for them
