Ultimate_Game
Needs to be fast tracked in the Indian setup and needs to be groomed to take over once Dhoni retires in shorter formats and needs to be in the Test squad as well. As for Delhi DareDevils... get a freaking clue you morons! First you guys wasted Kedar Jadhav by batting him at 6 or 7 and now you are doing the same thing with Pant! Get him to open along with Billings. Nair and Samson batting ahead of Pant is a joke. Rahul Dravid for all his qualities is not a great strategy guy from what I've seen and looks like DD will continue to be the bottom feeders despite having a pretty good squad. And one more thing... time to hang it up Zaheer and let Shami play instead. tweaker

BCCI
Rishabh definitely has that Yuvi touch and as BG mentioned the arrogance of young Dhoni as a batsman.First six was amazing, sound was sweeeeeettttttttttttttttttt Ultimate_Game, Sidhoni and helperononline

I would love to have Pant open with Rohit, Kohli at 3, Rahul at 4, Jadhav at 5, Raina or another hitter at 6 with Pandya, Jaddu and bowlers to follow. Even in odis I'm willing to play Pant as a specialist batsman ahead of Rahane the way Aussies used to do with Gilchrist when healy was the wkt keeper. tweaker and BCCI
Cricketics
Good batting today, could have won had he got more strikes in the 2nd last over. No one stayed with him too. Good start for him. Hopefully he continues, totally different batsman than what he was last year. A player with lot of confidence now than before. First ball six showed that. tweaker
Ultimate_Game
Needs to work on facing short pitched bowling though. That 6 he hit while not looking at the ball and playing the shot as a reflex action would have been noted by everyone. He would've been out caught on any other ground. At intl level he will be bombarded by short pitched deliveries and he better have a plan.

A well directed bouncer is adifferent matter. No one would look comfortable hitting or even leaving well directed bouncers.

sensible-indian
He is good for sure but hardly looks like he has all the bases covered. Edited April 9, 2017 by sensible-indian
express bowling
In yesterday's match, he has shown a tendency to build his innings and stay there till the end. That is a big plus. Also, he has all the strokes in the book. He is a young kid and the weaknesses in his game can easily be overcome by proper guidance and practice once he is part of the Indian team setup on a regular basis. Number
Anyone else thinks he is more of a leg side player. Most of his boundaries have been in the on side. Need to see more.

express bowling
Pant took 3 catches today and generally kept well for the deliveries I have seen. He batted really well before getting run out.
SecondSlip
Needs to open the batting with Billings. That trashy Tare needs to be dropped for Iyer as soon as possible express bowling and Ultimate_Game
Ultimate_Game
Can't believe Dravid and DD are wasting Pant down the order. Send him up the order and watch the fun. The guy was amazing in u-19 WC as opener and deserves a shot at the top. Send Tare at 6 and hopefully when Iyer is back, Pant can open the innings, Iyer can bat down the order and Tare dropped. Gambit
The time for Pant to play for India has come. Dhoni can always play as a specialist batsman (giving him moar "freedom to play") in CT and Pant can keep. The last time I was genuinely excited about a batsman was, well Dhoni in 2004 (after his innings against Pakistan A).
