SecondSlip
Yusuf Pathan - Seriously, what does KKR even see in this hack? How does he keep playing match after match over proven domestic performers like Sheldon Jackson & Ishank Jaggi? This guy is basically India's version of Shahid Afridi. Good for nothing tullebaaz that performs twice per season. There honestly has to be a better finisher (I guess that's his role ) than him in the country! Manan Vohra - Just looking at this guy bat and you know why he averages so low in the domestic scene. He honestly looks like a batsman that can get out anytime, very poor in defence and stance isn't all that great either. The most messed up part is that KXIP retained him ahead of the 2013 season and shocked everyone! Is this guy honestly one of the best T20 openers in the nation? Surely can't be! Sreenath Aravind - How does this guy keep getting chances with RCB? There are at least 30 better pace bowlers than him in the country yet this guy keeps getting chosen over and over again by Bangalore and then they wonder why they have the worst bowling attack in the tournament! I have never seen this guy top the bowling charts ever in our domestic circuit! This current season, they have some talented pace bowlers like Aniket Chaudhry and Avesh Khan, lets see if they get chances by Virat when he returns. One thing for sure though, they can't do worse than Aravind! Sanju Samson - Despite playing IPL for the past 4 years, his batting seems to be regressing and getting worse each season! This boy has very poor numbers in the domestic scene but only god knows what Rahul Dravid sees in him that he has given him countless chances with both Rajasthan Royals and now Delhi Daredevils! Even a finished (as many ICFers claim) Dhoni is 100x the player than this overrated youngster beauty is! Please don't tell me that this guy is in the reckoning to replace MSD when he retires! Shadab Jakati - Who the hell even is this guy I just checked his cricinfo profile and just found out that he is already 36! What does Gujarat see in him that he has a massive backing from them since the past 2 season? There are so many young spinners in the country like Amir Gani, Mayank Dagar etc who actually have a future in Indian cricket and can learn so much in the IPL, yet this uncle is being persisted with no performances to back it! He even got a lot of games for CSK under Dhoni so this is nothing new! Please feel free to add more players into this list and write a brief description! If we want IPL to remain the best league in the world, then we need to weed out low quality like this out and replace them with top Indian performers (excluding national players). Its a win-win for both IPL & Indian Cricket Edited April 11, 2017 by SecondSlip tweaker, Sidhoni, Mosher and 3 others
Ultimate_Game
Most of B'lore and Gujarat's squad should make the list. And I was surprised to see Gony still around and the guy sucks. Dinda also belongs to the same category and thankfully I haven't see Vinay Kumar and Unadkat so far. Maybe they retired Edited April 11, 2017 by Ultimate_Game tweaker

Maybe he retired Dinda and Vinay actually perform in domestic cricket though. Especially Vinay, that guy is a legend in our domestic circuit Gony hasn't been given a long rope actually, but he definitely did not deserve an IPL contract. No idea what Brad Hodge saw in him that he bid for him in the auctions! Hopefully he plays no more matches for Gujarat and young boys like Nathu and Thampy get their chances! Lannister
Aravind is actually a good bowler, who's just unlucky to play in Chinnaswamy ground. I would love to know the names of these 30 so called bowlers who are supposedly performing better than Aravind, albeit in more bowling friendly conditions. He is a pure passenger right now and very lucky to be playing IPL and not being unsold like his brother! This guy fails in domestic for Baroda yet is given chance after chance for KKR! There are so many better domestic players who went unsold in the past few auctions that can easily outperform this hack! helperononline

Good bowler who never tops the bowling charts in any domestic competition and is behind the pecking order of legend Vinay Ko-Maar for Karnataka forget 30, first give his 2 RCB teammates Aniket and Avesh a long rope like he had gotten and you will see the difference yourself! express bowling
SecondSlip
Another name to add! Rajat Bhatia - Oh boy where do I even start with this one! Is this guy really one of the best allrounders in the country!? I mean, I know Binny is bad but this guy is atleast 10x worse! (How is that even possible ) Binny is a superior batsman and bowler than this guy and that's saying something! I don't think Bhatia even plays domestic cricket for Delhi anymore, yet he's been given long ropes with various franchises in IPL! What do they see in this bits and pieces cricketer! He's almost 40 years old yet he's blocking a young allrounder like Aparajith's spot in the Pune team! _ramkumar
philcric
Parthiv Patel ... gets the plum position of opening the batting in all matches, usually with a strong batting lineup around him, not much pressure on him either for a spot in the team or to hold the innings together, but still fails consistently. 103 Matches. 21 Average. 114 SR. kubrickian
Its usually because they did well once and are hoping they will do well once again like Yusuf, he did very well for Rajasthan Royals and KKR some years ago or captain and coach believe they are good like Sanju Samson or they might be doing just enough to be a part of the team like Parthiv, mostly decent as keeper and bats well some times or Bhatia who bowls economically especially on slow, low wickets and takes some wickets as well. Domestic cricket is usually not relevant in the context of IPL because its a different format altogether. The Realist
Munaf PatelAge: 33 years 223 days Apart from escorting the ball to the boundary when attempting to field what possible reason is there for someone well into his 40s to still be on a cricket pitch? Ishant Sharma Ss inept and useless as you can get. There was a reason finally IPL teams came to their senses and did not buy him until Sehwag for some inexplicable reason chose him to replace Vijay. Saurabh Tiwary Lacks any batting skills, generally overweight and has done nothing noticeable for a long long time ACHOKE Dinda Arguably the worst bowler in IPL history. Terrible statistics every year and has moved around more teams than he has taken wickets. Sorry bro but I gotta disagree with this one! Pappu is a very consistent performer in the domestic scene! Both as a batsman and a captain! Under him, Gujarat won its first ever Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2015 and Ranji Trophy in 2016! His batting in both tournaments were very good as well! But yes, I do agree that he is not international standard (not even IPL standards with those stats )

What's the point of the IPL then if top Indian players (excluding national players) are excluded!? IPL = Team India players + Top foreign players + top domestic players if top domestic players replace these domestic failures, not only the quality of IPL skyrockets, but it will benefit Indian cricket in the long run as well! These top domestic players can really polish their skills and show the world why they boss the domestic scene in the IPL watched by millions! Someone like Samson who fails match after match for Kerala is getting a free ride in Delhi Daredevils. He's not even the best player from Team Kerala yet he's the one with the million dollar IPL contract while his superior teammates are rotting it out in domestic cricket! How messed up is that!? This is only 1 example, there are so many other examples very similar to this!
