demand vs supply .. not mnay good domestic players around to fill the slot ..

sidenote .. where is pujara ?

Are you saying that there is no better finisher than Yusuf in India currently not in IPL? No better pace bowler than Praveen? No better opener than Vohra? No better young spinners than Harbhajan? etc.

How will we know if top domestic players are unsold each auction while domestic failures keep getting free rides for their respective franchises?

Vohra is good

Good in throwing his wicket away maybe :hysterical:

The boy averages only 33 in FC and 24 in List A, Even his domestic team Punjab doesn't give him as many chances as KXIP have! This guy surely can;t be one of the top openers in the country! There has to be at least a few better openers who got unsold in the auction!

It must suck for top domestic performers to be unsold year after year while their inferior teammates get fat IPL paychecks and unlimited chances by franchises!

Averaged 50 in Ranji this season, an average of 25 @ S/R 131 in IPL is Good

Can you give some names? Just curious.

Do you think that he's one of the best openers in the country currently?
Do we seriously have NOBODY (not in IPL) that is better than him as opener?

Just watching him bat and you can tell that he is not even India "A" material. I mean surely there has to be at least 2 or 3 better openers out there that were unfortunately unsold in the auction.

I really hope your not serious Velu bhai! That is a very sorry state of affairs if the likes of Jakati and Praveen are bossing it in our domestic circuit (Thankfully they're not! :hysterical:

For T20 yes he is one of the best yes imo.

Unmukt Chand
Prashant Chopra
Sandeep Warrier
Parvez Rasool
Prithvi Shah
Hanuma Vihari
Aswin Crist

There are many more than this still! But this sample set can easily replace and outperform their under-performing domestic teammates who are currently getting free rides in various IPL teams!

Unmukt Chand- Good player but averages the same as Vohra in FC ciricket.

Chopra- Agreed very good player should have been picked

Warrier- Same as Chopra.

Rasool- Has been at enough IPl teams

Prithivi Shaw- Probably too young.

Vihari- Best suited to longer format although he has improved in shorter forms.

Crist-Good record but a trundler like Vinay Kumar.

A few more names to add to the list:

Iqbal Abdullah - Seriously, what do Virat and Vettori see in this bits and pieces cricketer? Even Pawan Negi (Who I don't rate highly) is superior than this guy with both bat and ball! He plays domestic cricket for Kerala and never performs for them with either bat or ball! Yet he's getting a free ride with RCB and keeps playing almost all their matches. It's no surprise that this guy is always expensive with the ball and always leaks runs! RCB deserve it if they want to keep persisting with mediocrity like him :hysterical:

Praveen Kumar - Why is he even playing cricket still? Officially he is only 30 years old but when you see him on TV, he looks close to 50 :hysterical: Praveen never ever tops the bowling charts in the LOI format for Uttar Pradesh, neither is he some sort of threatening world class bowler that stats don't do justice to him, so why does he keep playing match after match for Gujarat? He even played almost all their matches last season as well! You know things are bad when a under performing, overage, domestic failure is bowling with the new ball for your team!

SuryaKumar Yadav - One word comes to mind when you see him bat, HACK! No idea how he gets so many chances with KKR despite having a grand total of 1 half century in his whole IPL career! You know you're a crap player when you don't even have multiple half centuries in this league against mediocre domestic trundlers like Dinda :hysterical:. He averages only 28 in List A & 22 in T20s. These are stats that you would expect from players playing for associate nations, not a batsman dominated country like India! There is literally nothing in this guy's batting other than a few slog sweeps and delicate late dabs. There is a reason why Yuseless Pathan bats above him for KKR!

Will add few more as tournament progresses and if I see mediocrity been given continuous chances! Feel free to add fellow ICFers :icflove:

Bhai this is just a list of players that I thought off at the top of my head in quick time! There are many more deserving domestic performers out there that were very unfortunately unsold in the IPL while domestic under-performers keep getting chance after chance by their franchise!

I knew Unmukt Chand was done when he came out with his autobiography after the u-19 world cup  I mean the guy was barely 20 or 21 and he came out with his autobiography. Never expected anything from him after that even though I thought he was destined for bigger things after his u-19 WC final innings. His priorities were messes up and it showed.

As for Rasool the guy's a quota pick pure and simple. If he had been from any other state, he would never have made it to India A team, forget the India squad.
