Good for 50 overs, will make it to indian team by next year. He takes his time and isn't a brutal hitter but has a game to rotate strike on will and also bowl spin. I see him playing for Indian ODI side.

Averages 22 in domestic ODIs, zero hundreds.   Barely above 40 in FC.  Those are some poor numbers for an batsman hoping to crack the Indian white ball team.   Aint happening anytime soon.

Yes, but a good IPL can get your confidence up, and he will do well now and will have better support to bat up in the order for Delhi unlike what he has now.

As I said, I do see him playing for India, not now but in future. Currently many others waiting to get chances and he has to score lots of runs, but he will.

Definitely showcasing an improved temperament so far.  And crucially, has got the opportunity and backing from the Indians.  Thank god they aren't playing Rayudu and benching this young kid.

Yep, now with Gambhir's support and recent fight with selectors, hopefully he won't be dropped from Delhi LIST A side either.

His debut season was 15-16 averaged 50+ in that which is impressive considering he plays for Delhi.

16-17 was quite average but the season was actually bad for Delhi as a team.

Need to score heavily this season and break into A team asap.

Maybe can make it to T20 in place of Raina. has a pretty poor record in List A and FC cricket and can't see him make it to the Indian team in those formats. Am more impressed by Krunal Pandya though. Can bowl a couple of overs and can score quick runs. Maybe one of these days we should play bunch of all-rounders with just a couple of specialist bowlers.

For those saying he averages 22 in list A, Rishabh Pant averages 20.

But his strike rate of 91 is good. He could be coming down the order and had to slog at the death and got out perhaps. 11 List A games is too small a sample size. Pant also has a better FC record in his favor.

But not writing Rana off or anything. Just saying, he cant be considered in the reckoning as of now. This is a good start. He has to do well and become consistent in List A games and also improve FC record to have a shot at getting selected for ODIs.
