RCB's problem is having too many poor domestic players...historically teams that have done well have very good domestic players and maybe good- average overseas ones.

Apart from Rahul(injured) and Kohli the rest are duds of the highest order.

True about bowling, but not batting.

Batting - Kohli, Rahul, Jadhav, Sarfraz. Mandeep and Sachin Baby also had their moments.

Bowling - Only Chahal. They really need a good indian pacer or two.

Doesn't happen often. You are expecting them to start the innings, consolidate it and also finish it. They are also being conservative during the beginning and consolidation phase because of the weak middle order.

Like, the other day, ABDV went ape **** in the last 4 overs, 70 runs were scored, still the team ended up at only 157, because they were too slow in the middle overs.

Today, Virat and AB got out before 15th over .. and last 5 overs only 30 runs were scored with no boundaries ... I know the pitch was a little tough but it's also because no good batsmen were left, though plenty of wickets were remaining.

My point is .... if late middle order is good (like it was with RCB last year), you can have your 3 best batsmen playing in the top 3. If not, you have to spread them around a little more.

Well I get your point but AB shouldnt bat lower than 4.

RCB needs to get better domestic talent. The only good young domestic player they have is Sarfraz Khan who's unfortunately injured this IPL. Other than that probably Mandeep is the only other young domestic talent you can think of. Plus they need to find more bowling depth. You can't rely on Starc alone and they need to add more depth.

RCB better figure out their gameplan. They are a batting reliant side with Kohli, ABDV, Jadhav, Gayle or Watson, and are preparing slowish wkts not conducive to strokeplay. What exactly do they intend to achieve? Surely their best bet is to pile up the runs and bat the other team out of the match and you can't do that on slowish pitches. they need to prepare batting friendly tracks to have any chance coz on slower surfaces, better bowling sides will have an advantage.

I think none of the stars barring Kohli are the same this year.Abdv looks like a poor version of his earlier self.

Gayle is old and slow and may be good for one big show per ipl.

Watson is now a joke.
