They are still playing hacks like Rayadu and Pollard. sandeep 1 Link to comment

They dropped Azhar Ali and brought back Hafeez. Maybe for his bowling, but wrong move from team perspective. Punish the hard working improving guy, bring in the proven selfish limited commodity who may well be unable to bowl if he gets called again. Only explanation I can see is that Sarfraz wants some batting depth - With him and Shoaib Malik in the lineup, they can play 4 other bowlers, or even a bowler who can bat a bit for that 4th bowler. But Shahzad, Hafeez, Babar, Shoaib in an ODI lineup will end up putting all the scoreboard pressure on the rest of the bats - i.e. the 2 dropsie 'keepers - Kakmal and Sarfraz. This team will be heavily reliant on good starts from Khatmal for the run-rate not to stagnate early on. Rest are all tuk-tukie specialists. And no thump down the order either - Sarfraz is only good for nudging ones and twos. Its Khatmal and then Wahab Riaz who can hit boundaries in that lineup. What a pyss-poor batting lineup for ODIs in the modern era. It would have been better for Pakistan to give that Fakhar Zaman guy a couple of ODIs here. He's lefty, and can push the scoring a bit - would slot in nicely at #5 or 6 - kinda like a poor desperate man's Suresh Raina. But they went with the "safe" choice. Sarfraz didn't want to risk losing to #9 ranked West Indies in his first series as Captain. Link to comment
Cricketics
Honestly, Azhar ali is too slow for most teams but for a team like pakistan who has brain farts while chasing, Azhar Ali would have been handy for them in such scenarios where team is chasing 250 total and he can hold one end even if wickets are falling on one end. They don't know how to treat their players actually. Yeah, agree on Fakhar Zaman, looks decent and deserved a run as t20 isn't the best format to judge and since he was on tour, should have stuck with him. 2 minutes ago, sandeep said: They dropped Azhar Ali and brought back Hafeez. sandeep
^ Yeah Ali is slow. But he's been getting better. Is he really slower than Princess Selfie Shehzadi? And definitely more reliable than him for sure. Azhar Ali is one of the few pakistani players who has the right attitude - works on his game and fitness. I would say you are more likely to get him to improve than recycling the tweet-loving dot-ball clown. But Pakistan selection often has more to do with off the field stuff than just team balance and player abilities. Look how that Masood fella is back in test matches and that Aslam kid is not even in the squad. My Pak friends tell me that Masood is well connected and that's just how it goes. Happens in India too - but thankfully only at state level - look at that Saurashtra nonsense. Link to comment

I think they can chase anything below 280 if they get one decent innings from the top 3. But they've already given Pak 25 runs too many at this stage. Easy to get 300 from here. Link to comment
Tibarn
Pak may actually score 300, is their batting improved or is WI bowling garbage? Link to comment

This new track in Guyana has the ball coming on nicely. Plus Windies bowled badly. Dropped a few catches too. You can choke this Pak batting with tight bowling, they will implode. Windies allowed Khatmal to score run-a-ball 48 - it all went south from there. Minnow basher Hafeez promptly cashed in. Now Windies need a black swan type quality innings from the top order to chase this down. Tibarn 1 Link to comment
sandeep
"Aggressive" sarfraz walks in with 3 overs left to go. Promptly scores 7(7). Sarfraz bats like Rohan Gavaskar used to bat. Nudge here, single there. Classic wicket-keeper type. Batting too high at #6 in an ODI lineup though. Laaloo 1 Link to comment
sandeep
Misfield between 2 legs for 4. Windies are shockingly poor at fielding. And its the young guys. This is a clear indicator of team morale and discipline. Link to comment
sandeep
40 runs too many for Windies to chase. They will probably crumble with scoreboard pressure and fall 75 short. Link to comment
Tibarn
At a glance, WI looks like an associate side, none of their batsmen average over 40. May be tough for these guys. Whoever wins this match qualifies for the CT or the WC? Link to comment
