express bowling Posted April 16, 2017 Share Posted April 16, 2017 Really enjoyed 11 good yorkers by Thampi in his last 2 overs. All of them accurate, fast and swinging in late. Bowled at a tough time and under pressure. Speaks about his temperament too along with his ability. Speeds between 136 k and 144 k regarding faster deliveries. He seems to have the ability to bowl yorkers at will along with some good bouncers and slower balls. Some of us saw him do this in SMA Trophy too and that got us interested. He needs to be backed by Team India and GL. Hodge and Raina deserve credit for giving him a decent run and boosting his confidence. Tibarn Posted April 16, 2017 Share Posted April 16, 2017 Good yorkers so far, faster deliveries 140-143, slower deliveries around 94. As long as he is consistent, he has all the tools to be a good limited overs bowler. He could partner with Bumrah for a good death over bowling partnership for us, assuming his yorkers are as good as we've seen thus far. Death bowling has usually been our weakness in LOIs. Anyway, for me pace is the first criteria for a fast bowler. Other aspects can be developed, taught.
