Dhoni well even though he was the '2nd' best batsman in recent times, his numbers are deceiving. Some ICFers will tell you he provided a good support in the Asia cup. Yeah 48 runs in 4 innings and most runs were scored after Kohli had already pretty much won the match. Tell that to selectors who didn't even have balls to blood a youngster in a meaningless short format series against England at home. And they recently handed Yuvraj a Grade b contract and have Rahane as the vice captain in all formats Likes of Pant, Krunal (if conditions are spin friendly), Iyer, Rana, Pandey should be tried and given plenty of opportunities. not only are these players hungrier, they are good athletes and fielder too. Samson isn't there yet. Too inconsistent. Pandey, Pant, Rana, Pandya bros should be ahead along with KL Rahul, Rohit (if fit and in form), Jadhav and Kohli. Instead we have youngsters in Tests and all oldies in T20s Kohli should also end his love for Yuvraj. His time has come and gone. Most T20s you are chasing 160-180 and Pandey can be the one who anchors the chase and finishes off the match. Plus he should be an automatic selection for odis too. Nitish, Pandya can come in for guys like Dhoni, Yuvi etc but Kohli and Raina have to be there in t20 side. Pant is a must too and Raina hits from ball one and is the most consistent t20 specialist, so if any of the youngsters fail in the same game, Raina can take pressure of from Kohli or Rohit to score. Depending on the form of batsmen I would replace Rohit with Rahul as an opener or slot in Pandey. The one worry i have is that all of Rohit, Kohli, Rahul and Rana have succeeded when they batted in Top 3 but obviously not everyone can do so and you only have two slots.
