He should be straight up promoted to India T20 team. Indian T20 team should be mainly youngsters. No more Dhawan and Rahane and Rohit and even Ashwin

Tripathi

Kishan

Kohli (c)

Pant

Jadhav

K Pandya

H Pandya

A Patel / Another spinning all rounder or maybe even Kuldeep

Bhuvi

Bumrah

Thampi/Siraj

No he shouldn't. India cap needs more than a few decent IPL performances else we would've seen likes of Paul Valthaty donning the India shirt

It's one thing for a player who has consistently performed at domestic level get fast tracked due to IPL performances but a different matter when the only decent performances are the IPL ones.

What a find from the IPL! This is why I watch the IPL, unearthing exciting new players. Rahul Tripathi would have probably played years and years of FC cricket and nobody would have noticed him and finished an unfulfilled career if not for the IPL. Hope he continues doing well.

Here's an innings he had played against Bengal in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2016-17 quarterfinal:

Btw his partner at the other end, Nikhil Naik, is a pretty solid bat down the order as well:

Nikhil Naik is a good prospect and deserves a few chances in this IPL. He is a fierce hitter down the order.
