Pakistan Cricket Board’s selection committee member Tauseef Ahmed believes the Pakistan Super League (PSL), despite its young age, has already emerged as a major threat to the glitzy cash-rich Indian Premier League.

“A country (India) has been organising such a league for six or seven years, but we have only staged it twice and results are there for all to see,” Tauseef told The Express Tribune. “Our PSL has, in my opinion, inflicted severe damage on their league, and the credit goes to everyone including both Najam Sethi and Shaharyar Khan.”

Tauseef is of the opinion that just two seasons of PSL has replenished Pakistan’s talent pool, which is a testament to the league’s success.

“The PSL gave us new talent such as Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Asghar before and now Shadab Khan,” he said. “These players have already played under so much pressure in PSL that the stress of international cricket doesn’t overwhelm them.”

A Pakistani selector talking about IPL, heights of obsession. He should stick to selecting his team rather than these needless digs about other leagues. And no, PSL isn't in the same ballpark as IPL, better off comparing that boring starless tourney to BPL.

Arseholes like this are what make Pakistan a laughing stock.

He is talking about unearthing talent yet they select tried & tested failures over & over.

It's a very typical Pakistani social characteristic - the boast that is so ignorant that it renders the listener almost stupefied with embarrassment, but the Pakistani braggart has neither shame nor knowledge and continues in bliss.

Examples from their newspapers:

Pakistani student wins international award for poetry !!! (reality- the student has submitted a third rate poem to some website that is promoting an internet scam and will soon ask the 'winner' for money to 'publish' the poem)

Pakistani's spy agency ISI ranked best in the world!!!!!  (reality: Say what?  There's a serious spy ranking system now? Really?)

Pakistani student and various versions of Microsoft awards (reality:  I mean c'mon, this is news?)

Pakistani army team wins gold at UK armed forces competition (reality: Gold is a ranking won by any team that qualifies within a certain time limit, example hiking cross country in under x hours)

Tauseef Ahmed is just typical, he only brings the Pakistani cringe factor with a little more brassy zest.

I have one question though regarding the remark "results are there for all to see". My genuine question - what results? :dontknow:

Beating a WI 2nd XI or coming up with a "T20 Streak" by beating Zim, WI B team etc. doesn't count for much :giggle:

even bangladesh refused to tour pakisatn :p:
