Based on what we saw in IPL,Every Indian batsman looks out of form

Recommended Posts

Virat,Jadhav-part of a disastrous RCB campaign. Looked totally out of touch.

Rohit- coming back from an injury ,struggled  against spin, was never the fluent self he was in earlier editions...below par performance with the bat

Yuvraj- 2 good innings followed by total duds...never looked reliable out there.

Dhoni-see above...

Dhawan-probably the only frontline Indian batsman who can say had a good IPL. But still at best was a good 2nd fiddle to Warner and in case of Warner's early dismissal never looked like he will step up and take it over.

Karthik-good IPL but have seen it all before at the international arena

Rahane- poor IPL...never seems comfortable in LOIs these days.

Pandya- couple of cameos but if we are to rely on him to bat in every single game than god help us.

IPL may not be a total benchmark but still every single name in our squad looked lack luster in IPL...it's only IPL they were taking it easy excuse doesn't cut it...I mean what does it tell about you as a professional when you treat the highest money you ever make in that profession as a vacation...don't think that's a valid excuse.

on the other side the good thing is that our fast bowling looks to be in good form Bumrah,Bhuvi have had excellent IPLs and Shami and Yadav have had decent ones.

but anyway the point I am trying to make is our top order looks under cooked, seems to lack in confidence and doesn't have the aura that a Indian one day batting line up traditionally has.

Jadhav has not adjusted to t20 format. He can still play match winning innings in t20 here and there but the best format for him is ODI.It suits the type of batting he does. Expecting him to have a good CT.

Rohit will be OK. Hopefully. :phehe: Good batting conditions overall.

Dhoni don't know. Can be good or bad. Most probably at his screwing best.Yuvraj same.

Rahane shouldn't get a game unless one is 100% sure of swing on offer.

Karthik-- a gone case.Let's hope for the best.

As well as being out of form/past it this team lacks hunger and fire.

Its a closed shop when it comes to selections so there is no pressure or competition for places. The same set of players who have won nothing for 4 years are continuously backed or recycled.

IPL is a T20 tournament. Not many will show consistent form .

Not the best option looking at it for form .

Kohli and Yuvi have always shown they can turn it up for India regardless of their IPL form.

All of Kohli Dhoni Yuvi and Jadhav had scored 100s in their last odi series.

Dhawan if not mistaken even showed pretty decent form during IPL.

As for Rohit ,he just needs to spend some time in the middle.Coming back of an injury and all.Never will have gotten in IPL.

Hence i said that we do not look favorites on paper and hence the importance of players like Dhoni when the team is kind of struggling with players going in and out of the team.

This is where experienced players can help us and may be after a game or two others like Yuvi, Rohit will get their eye in and will be able to find some form.

It was a good outing for kohli-Dhoni-Dhwan today, who might not be at their best but at least batted for a reasonable amount of time today and got a good practice.

Hopefully Rohit and Yuvi bat for at least 40-50 balls each which will help them get ready for the tournament ahead and get used to the match conditions and help them take some of the rust which they might be carrying from injury time out.
