Amir Khan remains the true king of Indian film industry

:aha:

Update: Dangal has earned more than the jungle book, star wars the force awakens, kung fu panda 3, x men apocalyse, the hobbit, this is insane :adore:

Don't give credit just to Aamir. There were other actors, script, direction and music as well.

This movie has done so well in China only because of Amir Khan though. He is quite popular over there. Dangal has collected only half of Baahubali 2's collections in India.

Final World wide gross of Baahubali 2 could be close to 2000 crores as its still running in theaters and hasnt opened yet in China.

China has a quota of 34 foreign films per year out of which 14 are reserved for hollywood, not every film gets to open in china, but given the success of bahubali it will most probably be released in china but that doesn't mean it will be successful in china, only amir films have done well in china till now

It doesnt have to be hugely successful. Even if it collects another 200 crores, it will end up as the highest grossing Indian movie comfortably.

Bahubali 1 was a flop in china, could only earn 7 crores there, 200 crores is a big amount, no Indian movie apart from pk and dangal has earned anywhere near 200 crores in china

1st part was an unknown. People would watch the second one because of word of mouth. BB2 was the 3rd highest weekend grosser in US crossing even The Circle with Tom Hanks. So this could do much better. Let's see how it does.

US is a different market all together, but yeah we'll have to wait and see how the 2nd part does in china, can't dismiss it. Btw updated the OP from a new source, apparently dangal has earned 1743 crores world wide so it has a 150-200 crore lead over bahubali

I feel as if they are botching Dangal's collections in China to show its no.1 because otherwise it would be humiliating for Bollywood to be beaten by a regional movie. PK hasnt even collected 100 crores in China and it has lot more appeal, how has Dangal managed to collect close to 1000 crores ? Daal mein kuch kaala hai.

I watched the first 45 mins of Dangal and it put me to sleep. I've seen this underdog type sports film too many times now. There was no originality and the plot was basic and predictable. Even the songs were awful.

It only became popular because of Aamir Khan's fame. He's clever in the sense that he releases only about 1 film per year so they all get a lot of hype. Supply and demand.

Dangal, which released in India in December 2016, also opened across a record number of screens in China —around 9,000. To put that figure into context, that was the total number of screensall over the world that Baahubali 2: The Conclusion opened on.

Obviously, if Dangal was released in so many screens, its going to make money. What's so great about it ? :p: Bollywood wanted its own movie to be No.1 to avoid humiliation and used all their connections to make this possible. Its quite obvious.

Jealous about what ? Are you or me making this money ? Just fat cats getting their purses even fatter. I'm pointing out the corrupt practices in Bollywood but you are too dense to understand that. :phehe:

You are pointing without proof, so it is just a made up conspiracy theory, you can check various foreign media sources to verify dangal's collections in china, but you are too dumb to do that:laugh1:
