So let me ask this ?

If Dravid decides to quit coaching Indian U-19 and A team players ,who loses more ?

Indian cricket or Dravid ?

Everyone wants to associate with and work in IPL in one way or another.

Ifyou ban youth and domestic coaches from working in IPL,it's only Indian cricket that loses out and will be left with 3rd rate coaches .

Good riddance Guha .

He also says that at one of the players camp, one of the national coaches wasn't available due to IPL. Says that country must take precedence over IPL and suggest that the coaching salaries should be increased so that financially they don't take a hit by ignoring IPL.

What's wrong in that? I love the IPL but if a coach is ignoring a national camp due to IPL then it just doesn't sit right with me.

What a nonsense mail.

His job was to advise COA on the intricacies of Indian board and domestic structure to CoA and Vinod Rai .That is the remit of Guha.Vinod Rai himself mentioned that few days back.

Heck the remit of CoA in itself is implementing Lodha reforms .

Where does the appointment of coach and contracts to players come into that ?

What qualification he himself has in to talk about the performance of judging on Indian captain and advising on it.He is a historian not an administrator.

And what is wrong with coaches at junior level working with IPL during the two months. They will gain great knowledge working alongside the likes of Fleming Moody Bond and Donald .Will only help in imparting them on youngsters.Clearly his hate for IPL coming through rather than being objective.

Talk about absuing his powers and over crossing his limits.Absolute nonsense email that.

Couldnt agree more. Just beacuse he resigned doesnt gives him any grounds to hide of ineffective , lobbyist and sold out CoA has been so far.

Also he has no qualification, apart from more than a fan to judge them greats who have served the nation

I think his concerns are valid... only if BCCI had played handsomely to coaches.

The national coaches are very well paid.

Kumble is paid more than the superstar captain.

He is just being anti ipl

When ipl is played...almost no other cricket is played in India. So why can't the coaches be employed in ipl?

"Dhoni was captain of the Indian team while holding a stake in a firm that represented some current India players."

No wonder he refused to give new players a chance. :two_thumbs_up:

Some good insights.

In case due process had to be followed since Kumble's original appointment was only for one year, why was this not done during April and May, when the IPL was on? If indeed the captain and the Head Coach were not getting along, why was not this attended to as soon as the Australia series was over in late March? Why was it left until the last minutes, when a major international tournament was imminent, and when the uncertainty would undermine the morale and ability to focus of the coach, the captain and the team> And surely fiving senior players the impression that they may have a veto power over the coach is another example of superstar culture gone berserk? Such a veto power is not permitted to any other top level professional team in any other sport in any other country. Already, in a dismaying departure from international norms, current Indian players enjoy a veto power on who can be the members of the commentary team. If it is to be coaches next, then perhaps the selectors and even office-bearers will follow?

Yeah how much handsome are we talking here ?

Kumble is paid one and half crores more than Kohli the superstar and still wants more.

Are all coaches paid on par with Kumble? How much does Dravid/Bangar get for their work with Ind U-19 ?

BG, you can do better than trolling..

But the point is ,why should they be compensated ? IPL is also Indian domestic cricket.

Only Indian players gain by working with Dravid in IPL.

Pant and Nair and Samson gain a lot by working with him .Why should that be stopped ?

Indian cricket loses a lot and gains nothing by that .

Guha is trying to make it IPL vs Indian cricket ,which for me is absolutely ridiculous.

Are all players paid the same as kohli?

Other coaches will never be paid as handsomely as the national team coach.period.

Domestic cricketers and coaches need to be paid better but it will never be the same as national team and rightly so.

Saying all coaches should be paid better so they can't play ipl is stupid .Ipl plats then in crores for 2 months.

What next...compensate players who don't get to play ipl.

Why not give them the time off during ipl to do what they want. No cricket is played that time other than ipl.

Players should have a say in coach but not defacto power. They should not dictate the coach. Don't know why players and captain kohli is defended here. If they have their way they want a dummy like Manmohan Singh to coach while they enjoy their freedom. Wait it already happened with Duncan Fletcher. Now they smelt the blood and want it to continue that way. :phehe:
