Yes he doesn't play kohli, dekock type of innings but he adds runs a plenty at very good strike rate. Too early to judge Roy , hes going through a bad patch still has a 100+ Sr . Amla is not bad , hes alright but his stats are massively inflated . Hes useless chasing anything more than a 280 unless its WI and even batting first disappears against good attacks . gattaca
Always big match player. Dropped for rahane in wt20 vs wi have to say worst decision from shastri. Edited June 6, 2017 by gattaca Vilander and Ultimate_Game 2 Link to comment

That decision probably cost us the match coz Dhawan would've either got out earlier or made a 50+ score after facing 36 deliveries. Either way he would've played for the team rather than pottered around for himself. Shares the same trait as Raina in that respect. Lord, gattaca and Vilander 3 Link to comment

putrevus
People want KL Rahul instead of him, Dhawan is a big match player who can handle pressure very well.He is equally good in chasing which is a big plus and when he scores a hundred India generally wins. Ultimate_Game 1 Link to comment

Forget 100! India win most of the times when he scores a 50+ score. Link to comment

Vilander
I think people mistake formats. ODI - Dhawan - Gun player, big match player, Rohit - Sure shot ATG in progress. Once fully set in a game no one can match him, takes the game away totally from the opposition. TEST- Dhawan - Poor Rohit - Pathetic. Ultimate_Game 1 Link to comment

Although Rahane's selection for that match was in remaining 0.1% since Ravi Shashtri who is biased for Mumbai players actually had the power to influence his selection. Most of the time it is all bullsheet whined by sore losers who cannot bear successful Mumbai players out of jealous. Laaloo, sandeep and Vilander 2 1 Link to comment

Spoken like a true predator I agree always the big match player. Scored against saf on the big mcg ground too in 2015 wc. Link to comment

Yes. I want KL Rahul instead of Dhawan (not if Dhawan performs like this every game) but the fact is he doesn't. Sometimes the eye-test gives you more than anything else, KL Rahul or even Pant (or both) should be the opening batsman going forward (not right away) but moving forward. Link to comment

Dhawan is a different beast when it comes to icc tournaments .No other batsmàn even comes closein recent years. And his odi is record in general is pretty excellent as well. He generally is a very consistent Batsman. Where he sucks and struggles for consistency is T20s and tests. Link to comment
