At least in CT we had minnows pulling of upsets and going through. In IPL we had the usual teams qualifying and winning, aside from Pune

IPL was trollfest...CT is real deal. Those drums...national anthems...packed crowd chanting India India etc. give goosesperms. IPL does not even come close to this.

I am very surprised by the competitiveness in this tournament. After a very long time we have such open international tournament where any team can win on the day

CT is good only because we are used to supporting teams based on nationality. Otherwise, cricket is quite lackluster. The frequent rain interruptions and one sided games didnt help. 

 

Most people dont take IPL seriously but it still delivers on an entertainment level because teams are equally matched and the atmosphere is awesome. Perhaps with time and more intense team rivalry and improving standards, next generations could find IPL closer in terms of following to English Premier League, NBA etc because in Western countries, people watch sports leagues more than international games, other than World Cup.

IPL was more entertaining. Obviously the CSK fans would like CT better. Dare to say this next year

Champions Trophy this year has been surprisingly good. I guess only England has looked dominant in the group stages. Bangladesh making it to the semis even if by luck and India getting hammered by Sri Lanka which very few would've predicted. Pakistan beating South Africa was surprising as well. Interesting tournament so far.

 

IPL this year had its worst edition. Some teams were out well in advance and only 5 teams were in contention for the playoff spots near the end of the tournament.

The only way CT could trump it is if it's played in India.

 

The best part in following cricket/sport is attending the games and revealing in the atmosphere.

However, I rather have South Africa host CT or have England host CT in July/August than host during early June.

IPL is garbage. Every time I see Indian national team line up for national anthem, I put my hand close to my heart and sing with them. No comparison really.

No not at all, it happens its difficult for viewers to shift from t20i to odi straight away, this ct is actually annoying coz of continues rain interruptions but certainly better then IPL which serves boring flat tracks small boundary's, jokers like sandip sharma and unadkuts looks like world beaters and bowlers like steyn goes for 24 off the over.
