Dravid urges decisive call on Dhoni, Yuvraj's role in team

NEW DELHI: Time has come for India to take decisions with focus on the 2019 World Cup and that includes a call on the role of MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singhin the current team, feels former captainRahul Dravid.

"It is a call that is got to be taken by the selectors and the management," Dravidtold 'ESPNCricinfo' when asked about future of Yuvraj and Dhoni, who were the team's number four and five in the Champions Trophy.

 

 

"And what they see as the road map for Indian cricket, and where they see the role of both these cricketers going ahead for the next couple of years. Is there a place for both of them? Is there a place for only one of them?

 

 

Dravid added that time has come to also decide on the spin combination with finger spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja not making much of an impact on flat pitches during the Champions Trophy.

"We are playing on really flat wickets. It is tough on them, and ... it is not happening. If you want wickets in the middle, wrist-spinners and mystery spinners are the ones who look like taking wickets on some of these flat wickets with the fielding restrictions.

Post-retirements, Dravid has become more valuable than SRT hands down. When Dravid speaks you can be assured that he speaks that benefits Team India.

That means he is a rubbish manager.

 

But as a coach he is worth his weight in gold.

 

Even Hardik Pandya spoke about how time spent with Dravid improved his game greatly.

 

Anyway don't want him to be India coach.Will be another mess like with Kumble.

 

Better he serves the team being A team and U-19 coach.Great for our youngsters.

Well don't know about the UV but dhoni should defiantly go!! We have players like pant and Samson's waiting in the wing, give them some international exposure.

Do you guys really think yuvi will be persisted till 2019 by.he never had d privilege (in harbhajan's word).He will be dropped immediately after a flop series(Most likely to be wi series) and that's it.Dhoni only he can decide,They won't drop him.

And if you by the media coverage on him(Dhoni) or his fans meme.He is treated like a Martin Luther King or Obama.His photos,pcs,his so called coolness.His tips to Kohli(The most hilarious of all).Never seen a cricketer with such  a meticulously crafted PR image.Heck not even any athlete.
