Ravi Shastri has pipped Virender Sehwag to become Indian cricket team’s new head coach. Shastri will take charge of the team in the upcoming three-Test series against Sri Lanka, starting July 26.

Shastri, 55, was chosen by the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) that included former captains Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and batting great VVS Laxman.

Given his cordial equation with Kohli, Shastri was the top pick.

Terrible committee, its effectively one man as not sure what mute laxman and tendulkar even do

Shastri and Mumbai Lobby has his way. Kohli you retard :wall:

According to one report, 15/15 players wanted Ravi Shastri. Not even 14-1.

But yeah Mumbai lobby. I really hope now that Shastri actually holds some position he starts showing what is Mumbai lobby just to piss you guys. :money: But then Indian team would also suffer.

Shastri is not a bad guy to be a coach. He was an overachiever and under him India won first series in SL after long time.I would have loved to see what Kumble could achieve with this team away from home but we will never find that out.

Under Kumble did India do any out of the box things ?? I don't think so.
