express bowling
Hardik, Krunal and Shankar should all be in the 16 men squad for ODIs and T20Is..... and 2 of them in the playing 11. Would add a lot of balance to the teams. Against a weaker ODI side like SL.....I would try a team like 1. Rahul 2. Dhawan / Rohit 3. Kohli 4. Pandey / Dhoni 5. Pant 6. Shankar 7. Hardik 8. Krunal 9. Kuldeep 10. Shami / Bhuvi 11. Bumrah / Thampi This combination has 6 bowlers, 8 batsmen and 4 big hitters from 5 to 8. The " / " players would be rotated as the opposition is weak. Not in favour of playing krunal as main spinner, even if its a week opposition . If we have to play a 2nd spinner why not try chahal Against SL, since we are going by our wishes which selectors wud give a middle finger to. I dnt see them dropping jadhav, rahane, karthik I hope Kohli is rested, he has played non stop and he needs some time and thats the only way we cud fit in some youngsters 1. Dhawan 2. Rohit (capt, i cant beilve m saying this but what other option do i have) 3. Pant 4. KL Rahul 5. Dhoni ( if he is taken he needs to be backed before we fully give up on him. Play him all games or atleast 4 ) 6. Krunal 7. Pandya 8. Kuldeep 9. Chahal 10. Bhuvi 11. Bumrah 12. Manish Pandey 13. Siraj 14. Rajpoot 15. Shankar Rajpoot/ siraj - as we shud look for a tall bowler kind of variety who can keep tight and also takes wkts. I also wanted a left armer but Sran doesnt seems to be fit Dhawan- Rohit needs to be told to change their brand of cricket and improve their RR in 1st 10 overs KL is a better player then Pandey so ill give him the 1st shot at 4...... How to get in shankar, If hardik plays all 3 test ......he shud be given off from 2 odis and shankar shud come in. Hardik work load needs to be managed as well . Dhoni shud be dropped from t20 that will make a place there To get in Pandey, dhawan shud be rested in 2 games and dropped from t20 and we can try Rahul or even pant at open to see if others are better then our current openers. But our selectors will have diff ideas so none of this wont matter Edited August 1, 2017 by Ankit_sharma03 Link to comment
Silva
I dont like this tactic of playing only 3 specialist bowler and having all rounders bowl out the other 20 overs. Its too risky, if one of the 3 specialist bowlers is having a bad day than they are basically screwed when it comes to containing the opposition. Link to comment

Good that he has got an opportunity to show his all-round skills in the A tour express bowling, Forever Indian and Mosher 3 Link to comment

I want him to open as well Nair is player in Rahane mould but with a lot more strokes and less tighter game. Even i think the best place for Nair tvo bat wud be opening, now he may not be considered as opener in future. But keeping this tour in mind u have to see the resources avl. Middle order is already jam packed for this squad. Nair is being looked as test prospects so playing new ball and many overs will help his game only. This tour is not only about filling loopholes but developing player. If he failed before doesnt mean u give up on a talented player like him, if a guy can score 300 batting at 6 he must have some talent. Odi are all about getting ur game plan right, nair just has to understand that which rahane has failed till date. And he is much better then Mandeep who is in current squad , who wud have opened otherwise on contrary i think nair is good player of spin, may be good as middle order batsman in odis,he can play sweeps/reverse sweeps(best i can think of in india) and as you say he is being accomodated in the side because he cant find place in middle order,i dont think hats how it should be anyone who has chance of opening for ind in future should play at that number in these tournamnets Link to comment

As you said, he bowls the channel , has a good outswinger and bowls a heavy ball and has a good bouncer even though he is medium-fast. Very under-rated as a 50-over and 20-over format bowler. He has picked up 5 wickets in the 2 A-team games he has played in this series and has developed a knack of picking wickets this season. Bhuvi came into the team at the age of 22, was still getting stronger, had the time to increase his pace. While Shankar is already 26 and a half. Difficult for him to gain pace. sandeep 1 Link to comment

I won't be surprised if he bowls 130 k to 140 k range. Link to comment

ShebbySB
Shankar is a specialist batsman who can bowl. His bowling is nothing special..around 125-130k.Hardik is a lot better option that we have.I'd rather consider Krunal in place of Jadeja in LOIs. Link to comment

ShebbySB
Against weaker teams we can afford to rest our key players. This is my squad for weaker oppositions:- Rahul Iyer Pandey (c) Pant (Wk) Kedar Krunal Hardik Axar Kuldeep Siraj Bumrah Reserves:- Nair,Hooda,Chahal,Thampi. Link to comment

Your team is for playing against top opposition .... a good team but I would add Rahul in place of Pandey and play Pant and Krunal more often. Even front line pace bowlers are not so consistent.Looks like he is taking top order batsmen...What's strikes me about this guy is...consistent swing, decent bounce and wonderful line and length.....For a batsmen, that's not bad at all....He can be batsmen who can bowl.....his bowling is definetly better than likes of Ganguly, Binny....He can be very handy outside India.....esp in testsSent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk ShebbySB and Forever Indian 2 Link to comment
