IPL Failed to produce World Class Players for India

Before IPL started, India had greats like Tendulkar, Sehwag, Laxman, Dravid etc, all Class players. But since IPL begun, has India produced quality/World Class players? What do you guys think. Apart from Kohli, I can't  see anyone else reach the level of the former greats of Indian cricket?

IPL is t20 format and the others were basically greats because of test format( except Ten who is like his own class with great in both ODI and Tests even the 1 T20 he played he played well lol).

 

Tests currently has Kohli. Rahane is growing, so it Rahul. So i wont say there is dearth of potential but you wont know if they are greats unless they play suffitient games.

On contrary IPL played a big role in David Warner becoming a test batsman, Warner was yet to play a first class game for Australia when he played this first IPL season.

Our ODI and T20 team is still stuck with pre IPL players, how can you expect IPL to produce great players .

Well after IPLs started we have won a WC and CT. Only thing missing is a WT20 trophy which was screw•d up by Yuvi. So no complaints regarding winning World Events! Even better that the team is doing all this without relying on individual brilliance.

IPL gave us dhawan, pandya, jadeja & co who are very good in international in cricket. 

Ashwin and jadeja are top 2 test bowlers in the world. What else do you want mate?

Its not the IPLs fault, I think the selectors don't know how to properly select players based on IPL perfromance. For example dhawan scores alot of runs in the IPL as does rahane at times but thats only because they bat at the top. Indias top order should already be set with rohit, lokesh, kohli, raina, and jadhav but they will still select rahane and/or dhawan ahead of lower order batsman like Krunal Pandya simply because they score more runs in the ipl but they ignore which spot in the batting order those runs comes from.

 

Secondly Ashwin and Jadeja keep getting picked despite being terrible in the IPL. same situation with Yuvi getting picked. 

 

and I hate to keep saying this every other post but its not the IPLs fault Indian team is dumb enough to pick Jadeja as a specialist spin bowler. Look at the last 3 icc tournament matches Indias been knocked out from and take a look at how terrible jadejas numbers are, he is obviously a weak link in the limited overs squad and their are many options to boot him out but he keeps getting picked.

No country in the world has that degree of consistency on LOI cricket.

IPL doesnt produce players. Domestic first class cricket does. IPL is T20 and it only gives potential good players a platform to show case their skills.

IPL did fast track some guys into Indian team. Raina became a regular, Yusuf pathan came in, off late both bumrah and pandya got attention all thanks to IPL

IPL has done wonders for India. We were in the finals recently. We are pretty much on the top in all formats. Fielding has improved. If we did not have the moron Kohli as a captain we could have won Ct. IPL is the best thing since sliced bread. Take your hate somewhere else.
