TN collapsed against Andhra.  And Jharkhand not doing great against Kerala either.  Samson not keeping - I guess he's a specialist bat at this point.   This means he's not getting into the India team until there's a vacancy in the top 3 ODI batting slots.

Means pretty much never, who is giving him such ideas. He didnt keep few season ago and dravid went on record to say that he spoiled his chances

Now with pant and kishen in race as well he is not helping himself, Its going to be very difficult for him to make into the alone as batsman with all the competition

His keeping wud get better if he keeps in longer format as pitch changes every day and it gives u diff exp

In LOI the pitch remains same throughout

Anyone who has to play for india as next keeper batsman will be judged by the keeping standards of dhoni n saha .

In Ipl also its pant who keeps ahead of samson and with time pant keeping will become better then Samson

Exactly.  If Samson or anyone else wants to make it to the national team as keeper-bat - there is absolutely no excuse for not being a fulltime keeper at the domestic level.

@rkt.india aaj khush tou bohat hoge tum

its just a start of the season on a flat dharmshala pitch. He will have to keep the runs going. He has certainly transformed his batting in last 2 seasons. He is scoring at an SR of 93 today.

Nagarkoti should have played for the senior Rajasthan team

They are playing four fast bowlers. Pankaj, Aniket, Tanveer, and Khaleel is making his debut who is another great prospect. Nathu is not yet fit. Problem of plenty for them once he is fit. Don't see Nagarkoti making ranji debut this season.

I thought Riyan Parag would make his FC debut this season for Assam.  But doesn't look like it.  I don't think Assam team has that many decent bats to justify not selecting this kid.  He was one of the highest scorers in the u19 test series in England.   And Dravid rates the kid, so that has to have some weight as well.

I know Shubman Gill got the headlines and the 'A' team selection, but it would be nice to see a top class batsman making it to the Indian team from the NorthEast.

Good to know that khejroliya is playing test matches. He seems to bowl at a brisk pace as it was also mentioned in news that he was generating some good pace and was hitting the deck hard today. Here' what Indian express reported about his bowling today.

"Another impressive performance came from left-arm pacer Khejroliya (1/46 in 18 overs), who produced decent pace with a 70 plus over old SG Test ball. It was sheer pace that sent Assam skipper Gokul Sharma’s (51 off 172 balls) stumps cartwheeling. Kulwant was hitting the deck hard and getting deliveries to rear up awkwardly where some of the others couldn't get it above knee roll at times."

Yes ....and here is the link to the article

which had the following headline

Ishant Sharma shone with the ball with three wickets while debutant Kulwant Khejroliya impressed with his pace as Delhi restricted Assam to 224/7 at stumps on Day 1

And the tall and quick Ishant was there too.

Yes, I would have liked to see Parag. I remember reading somewhere that he was rated very highly by Dravid and the Assam cricket association. He's only 15-16 I think.

The pitch is flat, but Chopra is probably the only opener in the last 2 seasons with Sehwagian stats.

17 year old leg spinner Zeeshan Ansari also made his debut for UP. He played U19 WC last year.

Indeed, I was very excited to see he picked up a few wickets. Although I rate Chahar highly, I think ansari could become even better.

Prerak Mankad seems to be a decent seam alrounder from Saurashtra. Made his debut last season averaged 50 odd. played good innings of 68 here too.  Also has an SR of 140 in T20s and 110 in List A.  He is some one to keep any eye on.
