Sloane84
When you consider the teams, the location and what transpired in the first test, this WIN will go down in the Annals of Cricket History as one of the Best Test Wins of All-Time. The innings of Shai Hope and Kraigg Brathwaite are probably now in the top 20 of test match innings in the last 25 years or so. Link to comment

YCCC
Like everyone else, the Windies are a kind of second team for me and I always want them to do well. But I do not think any other Test team would lose a live Test at home to them. It was just so "England". Having said that, much to us Yorkies' annoyance, England have a dreadful recent record at Headingley. SA 2008, Aus 2009, SA 2012, SL 2014 and now this. So it doesn't actually come as much of a surprise to us. Thought the pitch was pretty flat throughout and England lost the game in the first innings. 250 proved to be well below par. Link to comment
Sloane84
NOOOOO......YCCC........it was not Headingley, not the pitch and not the first innings. It was Over-Confidence and Contempt ! England made 500 in their second innings and declared ! Then Jihadi Ali said they wanted Windies to "suffer". I guess Hope and Brathwaite have inflicted some severe suffering on Ali, Stokes, Root and Co. Btw, I am just sorry that Blackwood gifted his wicket to Jihadi Ali at the end. Link to comment
putrevus
People need to stop finding scapegoats for every defeat. This win is more about what WI did right than what England did wrong.England declared in their second innings so the first innings score is inconsequential . Hope reminds me of great Gordon Greenidge and if he turns out even fraction of player Gordon was WI have found themselves a great player. Link to comment

Agree I wouldn't have declared either. But you can't ignore the first innings completely. Link to comment
Gollum
This WI side has serious potential. Beating England in England is a great achievement, so happy for my 2nd favorite team. England must stop playing so many all rounders, they need specialists, they must remember what made them the world's best team in 2011. They have all the talent to be a consistent top 3 team but a mixture of absurd team selection and lack of killer instinct is holding them back. I hope they improve, want to see a great Ashes later this year. Link to comment
