Dhoni is a human, stress of captaincy made a huge impact on his batting, he has to work hard on things today which came to him naturally ten years ago. I think he's hoping for a 2006 Rocky Balboa style of comeback.

Pretty sure Stallone will make 10 more substandard Rocky sequels before that happens ....creed was pretty good though

Who will be the keeper bat instead of Dhoni?

rkt is right, Dhoni is indeed a problem, but we have bigger problems in ODI lineup.

Dhoni problem comes after that. Is Samson (not regular keeper), or R.Pant or Ishan Kishan or Naman Ojha or W. Saha or Dinesh Kartik or anyone ready to replace keep-bat spot in ODI 11? (For T20, try R. Pant)

Well how would you know that answer if you don't try anyone?

Karthik seemed like a huge upgrade over the crap we had in the 90s and early 2000s before we stumbled over Dhoni....we won't know till we try what's available over there

Kiwis made Latham to keep. We played karthik as a pure batsman knowing Dhoni will hardly ever contribute. More importantly the stats guy of our team should hilite the amount of runs made by 35+ old batsman over the years when playing quality fast bowling. Easier to play knocks against spin and medium Pacers like Faulkner. Not easy against Boult and co. And on top of it Dhoni is struggling against spinners as well.

R. Pant played two ODIs against these same Boult, Southee bowlers few days ago.

We are trying Pant, Samson, Ishan Kishan in quite a few matches. Pant's single digit scores are not yet sufficient to knock the selectors' doors loudly. Hopefully those guys grab the opportunities at some point? Right now, they are not grabbing it yet.

Everyone talks about his batting being a problem but imo the bigger issue is his keeping. With teams forging ahead with new, athletic keepers, Dhoni not only looks chunky but can barely move behind the stumps. If he has to stay, then stay as a genuine batsman and bring in a new keeper.

You must be joking right?

lol he is a brilliant keeper and its even more funnier  pakistani fan talking about athletic keepers , ffs your wk is sarafraz

dhoni batting is his major hurdle, not being proactive as a batsman in the middle overs to be specific,if it was only about wicket keeping and running between the wickets dhoni would play for another decade and retire at the age of misbah
