tweaker
Not considering the international cricket, young players are also playing non stop cricket. Consider the case of MD Siraj. He has played domestic season for Hyderabad, than IPL,than A tour of South Africa, now Duleep trophy & maybe he will be selected for A team against NewZealand. Then he will be again playing for Hyderabad for the new domestic season. We have seen many young players ie Iyer, Nathusingh, Vijay Shankar, have missed the Duleep trophy due to injuries. The schedule is so packed that the selectors had to select a 5th rung side against the Australian team OpeningBatsman 1 Link to comment
sourab10forever
The thing is having many domestic games is good. Only that different set of players need to play Everytime. So that everyone gets a chance but still stays fresh. Managing them is the key. And the tournaments you have mentioned took place over a year. When you list them like that it looks too much but over a year even the international players play more or less the same amount of cricket. express bowling
I think the really loaded part of the domestic calendar is SMA Trophy, VH Trophy and then the IPL. Ranji will have less games per team this time and that may help. Lots of games have the advantage of giving chances to different sets of players.... like Avesh and Khejroliya. It just has to be made sure by the selectors that the promising all-format players like Siraj get sufficient rest. OpeningBatsman
As a fan, no cricket is 'too much cricket' , for me. The more the merrier Having said that, we need to make sure players are rotated so as to prevent burn out. Edited September 10, 2017 by OpeningBatsman Mosher and express bowling 2 Link to comment
beetle
They should have a solid rotation policy with a max limit on number of matches a player can play. Get a good vice captsin and let the captain and vice captain share the load. Link to comment

tweaker
If we consider the new season , Duleep trophy, practice game against Australia, A team matches against New Zealand A,& odi series against Australia are almost going at the same time. Young players ie Shankar,Krunal, are injured.Iyer, Shankar,Pant,Krunal should have played against Australia in the practice game today as they are in the selection radar Link to comment
