Washington Sundar capped off a memorable match with career-best figures of 6 for 87 as India Red wrapped up a 163-run win over India Blue to lift the 2017-18 Duleep Trophy on the fourth day in Lucknow.

It was Washington's second five-wicket haul of the match, coming on the back of 5 for 94 in Blue's first innings, and gave him a first-class-best match haul of 11 for 181. The wickets came in addition to a first-innings knock of 88, and 42 in the second that lifted Red from 58 for 4 and recover to 208, setting Blue an improbable 393 to win.

@King Tendulkar Check out the scorecard. http://www.cricbuzz.com/live-cricket-scorecard/18867/indred-vs-indblue-final-duleep-trophy-2017

Washington scored 88 and 42 whilst picking up a 10 wicket haul (11/181). This is tremendous considering that he just turned 17. Along with Prithvi Shaw this kid has greatness written all over him.

Kids got ability . Let's see how he does . Could be a start

but shaw will be . Give guarantee

amazing times 3 17 year olds who could play for india right now . Wow

Pant is 20 not 17. The other two who would play for India sure are fast bowler Kamlesh Singh Nagarkoti and leg spinner Rahul Chahar.

Highlights of his 6 wicket haul in second innings: http://www.bcci.tv/videos/id/5007/duleep-trophy-2017-18-washington-sundars-game-changing-6-wicket-haul

Certainly seems like he gives a lot more revs to the ball in longer format. He bowled a little flatter in IPL, but seems to change his bowling style according to formats.

Very true even if we never had a team as good as Mumbai or Karnataka in recent times.

The last we close in 2011 , we blew it up by preparing a road(the final was in Chennai) against Rajasthan in final.

We chocked too many times against inferior teams.Hopefully winning run we had last season instills a change in attitude under pressure.

Feel this time we genuinely have the best team in Ranji this seaosn and easily the best we had in years even if Ashwin goes for India team.If we blew it again though ...

And both from Rajasthan. There's also Salman Khan who is considered to be good (at least for Ranji level). The team has lots of youngsters. Gill could also be a future prospect; don't know enough about Abhishek Sharma and Parang although I have heard good things about them.
