Was impressed with his hitting, his bowling well dont think he shud be anything among our 5 bowlers. Shud try to work on battting more to get that 6th batsman and 6th bowler position

He is a low average front-line bowler in FC and List A

 

Can be the 4th or 5th bowler in LOIs atleast.

So basically a version of Krunal Pandya, but one that's actually done something in FC cricket?

This guy has been doing well since last year, keeps picking up wickets almost every match every format & has some firepower.. did well for India A also..

Batsmen are not the problem with team India... bowlers are.... It is bowlers who can bat (with high S/R) that are very valuable for team India. The proper batsmen who can bow a bit can be considered but not that useful given our enormous batting talent.

I didnt find anything expetional in his bowling to be atleast in top 4 , 5th also if u have a 6th bowler like Krunal with helpful pitches

As main bowlers he ll have a huge huge line ahead of him - kuldeep, chahal, karn, sundar , jadeja, ashwin 

 

But as that 6th batsman bowler role - Krunal, shankar, kedar.....line isnt that long .

 

would really to see how he performs as bowler in higher level cricket

I find krunal bowling quite better and underrated , the guy has dismissed ABDV so many times and troubled others to. He is godo enough to be 5th bowler ......didnt find gowtham bowling that good as of now.

Probably will get a contract in the upcoming auction.  LOI FC numbers certainly show promise on the batting front.  

 

I really hope that IPL expands to 10 teams sooner rather than later.

Many teams, including us,  often tend to choose the 4th bowler in LOIs based on whether he can hit a few big shots too, along with being a front-line bowler. Which is why guys like Axar played a few games ahead of Kuldeep. This role doesn't have much competition apart from Axar.

 

He may be the big-hitter 7th batsman + 5th bowler too.

 

Depends on where he chooses to position himself.

Im all up for extra talent at 8 but a bowlers 1st job is take wkts, Jadeja, ashwin, axar all could hit a few but are they doing their 1st job correct picking wkts. Even harbhajan singh wudnt be a bad option in that scenario

 

But this is were their are better bowlers now kuldeep and co has to work on their batting, soon karn might get a nod may be due to his batting. But 1st job is to take wkts. 

 

It also wud take few yrs for us to follow other teams same idea as hardik bowling need to develop 1st to give us that cushion which is going to take time

 

A 5th bowler shud be good enough to give 10 overs on most occassions, n thats were i m still not excited with gowtham's

bowling . 

A 6th bowler yes ofcourse, 

I really think he shud try to position himself as 6th batsman and 6th bowler. Specially with all the demand of having wrist spinners going around he might find it tough and then lets not forget there is sundar who is performing on every given chance 

 

But lets a bit more of his bowling specially in IPL scenarios

All kidding aside, I am a bit skeptical.  He seems like a Jayant Yadav type, maybe a bit more of a hitter.

The problem is he plays for Karnataka , they seem to favour the pace bowlers way too much . I have followed how both Gopal and Gowtham have been handled by Vinay , very unfair imo . To start with they play most of their matches on seamer friendly pitches and even if the pacers are struggling the spinners are brought in very late . These two have been their strike bowlers for last 2 seasons , picking up so many wickets in their short spells ist high time the captain relaizes that .

he was picked by MI for 2 crores last time but they are Benching Champions.

I believe he can start with T20 & then odi's, atleast use whatever is left inhim when he is in pink of form,he is already 28-29
