Test Matches, undoubtedly Dravid. But over all, Sanga may have a edge.

How? Sanga was way too prolific scorer. Both had similar weaknesses. Dravid failed to score in SA and SL.

While Sanga didn't face many ATG bowlers, Dravid has one 1 away hundred against all ATG bowlers - his 100 in SA.

Alien condition for Dravid is not SL or For Sanga is not India. Alien condition for two is  England, Autralia and South Africa.

Dravid has 40 matches, 3166 run, averaging 46 while Sanga has 29 matches 1977 runs, averaging 43. Its scoring rate/impact of Dravid in odis which makes me feel that may be Saga may have slight edge

look at the breakdown against each team home and away- focus on games vs quality opposition

I don't remember Sangakarra playing a calibre of knock like Dravid's vs Aus in Calcutta 2001

Sanga;s 192 in HObart in 4th innings come very close

Sanga has played great knocks.

His 203 in NZ at SR of 66 when everyone struggled in first inning. NZ were bowled out for 221, and SL batsmen scored 153 except Sanga.

192 at Hobart

Not as good as that 180, but he has scored multiple double big 100s when no one else was scoring in his team.

And why is that? eason is simple. Aussies dominated the game. Team vs team, they were far far ahead. Second was South Africa and that too, nowhere close to Australia. And then there was a big gap between Africans and rest.

And hence individual performances  and heroics of players like Lara Dravid, Tendulkar (to some extent KP) made fans go crazy

What weakness Dravid had? Sanga was not a all text book player.
