Austin 3:!6
I am a huge Dhoni fan but perhaps its time to let go T20s. Timing of retirement is crucial to maintain that legendary status. Look how people suddenly praising Nehra ji after he announced his retirement, the same folks who were abusing him left right for selection in the team beetle and Forever Indian 1 1 Link to comment
WC2011INDIA
I am more curious to hear gavaskar's reaction because he wants hahane to be in the t20 squad, but now Iyer is part of the squad and he is a mumbaikar. Virat le Raha h iski. Link to comment

OpeningBatsman
Wrong format for Iyer, we need explosive batsmen in t20s, don't think Iyer fits that bill. He seems to me,more like a 35 ball 42 runs player. Happy for Siraj Edited October 23, 2017 by OpeningBatsman Rasgulla 1 Link to comment

He had an SR of close 140 IPL 2017 scoring 338 runs, 128 in IPL 2015 scoring 49 runs. 2016 IPL was bad for him. Overall, SR around 130-135 is fine for a young guy and is as explosive as any in domestic cricket. We could have tried someone like Nitish Rana too instead of Dinesh Karthik. WC2011INDIA
We need to try that other opener from RPS. He was damn good in IPL. Enough of these "name" players. Link to comment
Silva
Whats the point of Dhawan and manish in the t20 squad with rohit, iyer, and lokesh already in their? Should look to pick more big hitters like Krunal. This t20 squad is packed with batsman that like to take 2 overs to get set before playing shots. Siraj is a great pick because he looks like the most complete limited overs bowlers not to play international cricket. Can bowls accurate yorkers, slower balls and good bouncers plus he has a a good all round record in domestic cricket. Him bowling some with the new ball can allow kohli to use bumrah as a wicket taking weapon in the middle overs. India need to try playing with 3-4 pacers more often so they can do better outside the subcontinent. Mosher, Laaloo, RAZPOR and 1 other 4 Link to comment
Rasgulla
Nice to see Iyer there when you perform you get reward not like pant with 0 2 3 scores Link to comment

With Bhuvi and Bumrah as first choices along with Pandya as 3rd seamer, I don't Siraj getting a game unless they rest someone. Link to comment

I think pandya is still more of a 5th bowling option since kohli doesnt trust him much with the new ball or at the death. Using two specialist spin bowlers isnt nessesary in fact it might hurt considering the next t20 world cup is in australia.and the next odi world cup is in england. I doubt siraj will play either in india but in the future india need a another bowler in the playing 11 that can bowl with the new ball and at the death apart from bk and bumrah. In that way, I would like to include someone like Krunal Pandya for lower middle order hitting and spinner option and include Siraj in place of one of two leggies. That would give batting till number 7 with Bhuvi at 8 then bowlers. express bowling 1 Link to comment
The Realist
Same old same old. A couple of young players picked to appease the fans but they won't get a game never mind a decent run in the team. Link to comment

Perfect for playing outside the subcontinent. Link to comment

It doesn't work that way and sorry to say you are being clueless here. Dhoni (2005 - 2012) was an absolute beast of an ODI batsman. Yes he may not have the number to show in T20s (Internationals only) but he always had higher ceiling than the likes of Karthik, Parthiv etc. Top it up with the T20 WC win in 2007 and all the achievements in IPL, you simply cant drop a player of such calibre at his very peak. What did you expect selectors to do? Strip him from captaincy and drop from the team just after he won you the WC or drop him from the team when by far he is the most successful player in IPL? And replace with whom? Karthik? LOL Cricket is not all and always about stats my friend. Dhoni in the T20 team since 2007 and did absolutely nothing is a massive overstatement and something which only Laaloo can come with. Link to comment
