Bunty Sajdeh: The super-agent

Recommended Posts

Quote

The peaceful outdoors section of The Village Shop, a café that faces a church in the Mumbai suburb of Bandra, is an odd place for Bunty Sajdeh to be this Saturday afternoon. As we speak, much of his mind is on other events, which are taking place in a far more hectic environment. Five of the players his talent management company, Cornerstone Sport & Entertainment, represents are playing a hard game of Test cricket against New Zealand in the sweltering Kanpur heat (which India won).

Cornerstone, which Sajdeh founded in 2008, is now an agency that represents sportsmen exclusively; it manages Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, Murali Vijay and Umesh Yadav, all of whom are in the current Indian Test team, as well as Ishant Sharma, who is likely to be in it as soon as he is fully fit. But it is not as if he simply looks at who the most talked-about cricketers are and then tries to sign them up.

“We scout players when they’re young,” says Sajdeh, 38. “It’s easy to look at Virat today and say he’s a rock star, but I spotted him back during the 2008 Under-19 World Cup and signed him up before he became a regular for India.”

Digging into too many things are we, had the results been 2-0 in indias favour, this thread wouldnt have existed and Kohli would have already been termed as a biggest God after Lord Shiva.

Some time back (during CT) when I was moaning about Yuvi's selection, all my post used to be termed troll and anyone against my post used to be upvoted.

So you are right, Very few are against Kohli because of selection. Its performance of team which ws hiding his bias. But I think Indian team is allready divided into two groups. And most of the players in other group give a **** about what Kohli says as they know, there is allways a IPL

Had Rahul Gandhi been intelligent his speeches would have been better. So let's appreciate Rahul Gandhi's speeches, isn't it? What's the point, bro?

Wah, so Bunty planned Virat's wedding as well. Is there anything in life that Virat does without Bunty's plan?

And well done Virat on the 100 crore endorsement deal with Puma. Now we know why Bunty is so important.

Such conflict of interest should never be allowed in the first place. BCCI has strict rules about playing in other leagues etc but not for captain sharing same agents with other players?

Agree that some rules should be made to solve the issues that the player management agencies are creating.

Rahane, Yadav and Vijay are also represented by Bunty but still they were dropped. Even within the Sajdeh club I guess there is hierarchy with superstar types getting higher preference over blue collar types.

No cousin...so no conspiracy theories about Rohit...he is purely on numbers and most importantly talent...pull his 6 per test stat...better than Richards,Sachin,Lara,Ponting :yay:

In india 1st cousins are also sisters.

So??? Sister is sister cousin is cousin...all these rumors about Rohit using his super star status to help Bunty are BS.

Why would Rohit  risk his reputation for wife’s cousin...Saala hota tho rumor would have some legs to it.

Any idea how Rohit met Ritika?

Probably in a party/dinner hosted by Bunty so???

anyway the saying goes

“Joru ka bhai ek taraf saara zamana ek taraf”

never heard “joru ka chacha ka Ladka/mausera bhai ek taraf Sara zamaana ek taraf”

Educate us if you heard anything different.

jokes apart no matter what spin people put on it Rohit Sharma is a super star of Indian cricket and every Indian and international cricketer who have seen him are absolutely mesmerized by his skill and talent...there is no conspiracy when it comes to him...in fact he is a throwback to the fab 4,a clean non controversial good guy cricketer.

It is not even about kohli being biased. The very fact that an agent who manages the captain also manages players is conflict of interest

Yes from a ethical standpoint it’s wrong but I am not one of those who will question Kohli’s integrity...I just think he is one of those alpha types who thinks he is taking care of his friends...you know the types who would rather get into a fist fight for their friends even if they are in the wrong rather than trying to talk sense into them.

Bunty seems the guy who uses the name of their super famous relative to open doors for him.

Rohit comes across as a guy who is so focused on his passion that is batting that he is just naive to all these shady things happening around him.

Even if Rahane plays instead of Rohit, he is also a Bunty player.

Anyway, personally I don't think the awful team selections have to do with Bunty or with any favoritism for Delhi/Punjab boys. Instead I think Kohli simply does not like quiet reserved players like Rahane, Pujara, Saha, Bhuvi.

He likes loud flashy type players. Probably assumes that to mean players with "intent"

She met him during an ad shoot that she was looking after. She became his manager and worked as his manager for some years before they tied the knot.
