Left Arm seamers currently in Indian domestics

10-15 years back we had a constant supply of left arm seamers who all ended up having good to decent careers for India...

 

Zaheer Khan,Ashish Nehra, Irfan Pathan, RP Singh all came through the ranks almost one of after the other.

 

Today the only 2 names I see left are Unadkut who is as mediocre as they come and Nehra who has announced his First class+international retirement next month.

 

With that it looks like it's pretty much Unadkut as the last left arm seamer left??? If that is the case then that is equivalent of apocalypse.

 

There are are lot of exciting fast bowlers coming through the ranks in Indian domestics right now but looks like they are all right armers.

 

Are there any left armers  at u-19 level(apart from Arjun ) or at any first class level that we can keep an eye out for?

Kulwant Khejroliya -- Left arm fast --  17 wickets from 7 List A games.   May have genuine pace and gets good bounce..

I don't follow much of our domestics but at there was a guy naming chama milind who to me looked a genuine talent, nice zippy action with decent pace was clocked 143kph in u19 world cup, god know what happened to him, unadkat is nightmare

But don't worry our pace bowling is in RIGHT hands

Aniket Chaudhary -- fast-medium .....  6'5 " tall .... gets good bounce and swings it too

 

He is a test prospect  and has a FC average of 27.9

 

Bowls 130 k to 144 k range.

Khaleel Ahmed -- tall, maybe 6'2" .... lively pace .... just 19 years old.

 

Said to have touched 144 k playing in Australia.

 

Played in the last U19 WC.

We need a couple of these guys to atleast come and train with the squad instead of Arjun Tendulkar. I am sure it is beneficial

for Arjun bowling to Indian batsmen but right now it should be the other way round for us to train against left armers of some credibility...hell even facing Unadkut in the nets might help.

 

We have been struggling against Starc,Boult,Southee,Amir,Beherendoff...there is clearly a pattern here.

Pawan Suyal ..... pacy, skiddy , can swing the ball and has a good yorker

 

List A average of 26.4 and ER of 4.45

 

Has bowled 140 k+ in the IPL.

Indian team did call up Aniket Chaudhary last year at the nets before Australia series to counter Mitchell Starc. Both are similar height bowlers. Starc is a yard quicker though.  he was even picked for India A against BD and picked 4 wickets.

regularly bowled 138-140 in ipl.......if he bowls fuller just like amir to swing it in ...then he is ready ...can bowl 140 overseas conditions while unadkat is 130-135 bowler and aniket is 133-139 bowler

Pawan Suyal was unlucky..struggled to find a place in Delhi ranji team and MI...he looked impressive in the few opportunities he got..

he bowled up to 146K in Syd Mushtaq Ali trophy.

He is pacy but also a spraygun from what I have seen of him. Needs to develop control.

Whatever happened to Barinder Sran... He was a decent LOI bowler, not sure of his First class record / fit for Tests though.
