He is scoring at 1000 runs per year rate. To break that reacord, he will have to play in same way for next 8-10 years which is very difficult. He is almost 29. Going at same rate till 38-39, highly unlikely. Link to comment

Earlier playing 30 ODIs in a year was common. I think Kohli has played 30+ ODIs once or twice in career. Link to comment

Given his fitness it is likely that he will play till 36-37. So not very unlikely as well. Tough. Edited October 29, 2017 by sourab10forever Link to comment
goose
The number of one-day runs Kohli end ups with at the end of career is about as relevant as the number of games Federer has won over his career. Link to comment
goose
and i mean games in the tennis sense. Link to comment

These are his peak years and you're expecting him to continue his peak years even during haydays. 1200 is what he has got twice only I think. Like I mentioned BCCI don't organise many ODIs anymore. Look at players with most calendar runs. All are 1990s, early 2000s records with 35-40 matches each by those players. If Kohli plays another 220-230 matches, then he can surely break this record, but at this rate playing 200 matches will take a decade. Nonbeliever 1 Link to comment

With the ODI championship into the picture now, teams might start playing more ODIs than what they are playing currently. Link to comment
SUMO
There should have been 5 odis and 1 t20 in this series as well as next sl series. Then there is t20 tri series in sl after sa tour...too much t20 in my opinion. 8-10 T20 a year is enough. 12 test 25-30 odis and 10 t20 a year is ideal for me.
