Team India batting - challenges

Except for one or two years, ours has been a top standard batting lineup since early 2000s.. we have run machines, always have the best batsman of the generation and since Yuvi and Dhoni excellent finishers for a while. Where we really struggle is playing overseas against strong teams on flat pitches. How many times have we defeated Aussies or Proteas in their countries ? We have sometimes struggled against new Zealand and England as well. Now that all these 4 nations plus Pakistan have become strong outfits in good form and are sureshot quarterfinalists and likely for semis, we are likely to have some really difficult situations to reach semis/finals. What really bothers me is the top class bowling lineup of the above teams. We haven't played against Starc for ages , we struggled against rabada, not quite sure about wood/Anderson, Boult n co have always been a pain and green neighbors are pretty tough on their days.  We were lucky to meet toygers in quarters last time/ we would have mostly  beaten England anyways. But above teams have become stronger and have atleast a match winning fast bowler if not two. Not death over specialists like Bumrah/bhuvi but bowlers who can quickly make the scoreline read 63/4 kind in chases. If that happens we should kiss our hopes goodbye.

I am not even thinking of Rohit's left-arm angle and swing issues, unsettled middle-order with Dhoni.

if ur talking about Odi's - we are not in that bad position just need 2 spots to be filled 

if ur talking about t20 well a complete makeover is needed

Yes it's hard for Indians to accept when a Pakistani tells that coz their batting is a bigger joke

 

We are 2-3 tweaks away from an excellent loi unit,pandya has to be a 5th bowler and needs to contribute mainly as a batsman and another proactive middle order batsman preferably

 

And I would say our bowling is far better than Eng for sure lol

Yes about odis and specifically about world cup. Just saw d scorecard of our semifinal against Australia, Johnson Starc Hazlewood all had excellent figures on a pitch where they scored 328 , similar to  the CT final scoreline.
