After almost a year now, do you think kohli has been able to handle the pressure of captaincy in all formats?

Disclaimer : This is not a discussion thread about this ability or how well he has captained. It is about if he has the stamina in him to be a all format captain and if or not this has impacted his batting.

Even though captaincy hasn't impacted his batting till now... To me, too much of Indian cricket revolves around him. This is not good for the team. Everything he does is followed by hundreds of millions. Will get exhausted soon.

Thoughts?

He's going to need breaks.   Sooner rather than later.   Captaincy does take a mental toll.  Even if he has a very good Charioteer to guide him.  There are a few on ICF who gave Dhoni a lot of flak for sitting out a tour to SL a few seasons ago.   But none of them will let a peep out if VK rests for a test or 2.   And they shouldn't.

He has done well so far thoigh biggest test awaits. By the time the England tour is over, we would have played plenty of cricket away from him under Kohli including in places like Australia where we played earlier, the South Africa and England. That will be the best time to guage him and see if any burden needs to be lifted of his shoulders, but he surely is on the right track.

A good captain shouldn't need breaks.  He should be a leader who is up for the challenge.

Imo, Kolih is not up for the challenge of captaincy in all three formats.  He just isn't suited for test captaincy.  He is like the child as kindergarten who had too much red cordial at lunch - energized for a few hours but falls asleep after lunch.  He was exposed as a poor test captain vs Australia recently, whick led to him having to drop himself as he couldn't handle the pressure.

A good ODI and T20 captain however

He was injured that's why he didn't play the fourth test at Dharamsala.

Get your facts right.

His team successfully defended a low total in Bangalore, otherwise it would've been curtains for India in that series.

They dominated Ranchi test also, until that epic blockathon by the Aussies who were intent on getting a draw on day 5.

Virat has 19 wins and still has a long way to go while captaining overseas.

Misbah has 19 losses, highest by any Pakistani captain.

Most of you haven't got the question...

I'm asking if kohli has been able to cope up with the pressure of being the captain in all formats. The SA tour alone has nothing to do with it. Not talking about his ability as captain rather the impact of captaincy on his batting.

Infact the pressure of captaincy during home games is much more than in an away tour. Kohli has been the center of Indian cricket for a long time now.
