Umesh Yadav has regressed under Kohli

Recommended Posts

He was such a good prospect. He could move ball both ways and reverse the ball at pace. Hardly any Indian pacer had those skills right at start of career.

Under Dhoni he took 40 wickets at avg of 31 in 10 matches.

After that somehow he has regressed under Kohli. 23 matches 49 wickets at avg of 40, and 0 5-fer.

Played 1 match under Rahane and picked 5 wickets in that match.

Yeah its a joke that he used to back tundlers like Bhuvi instead of Paast bowlers like Yaadav .

He never used to back Bhuvi. He publicly stated that Bhuvi was not a death over bowler. Bhuvi learnt death bowling to spite him and even said in an interview he can bowl at death. Under Dhoni it was a regular sight to see Bhuvi bowl 6-7 overs per match with not bowling at death. One of the reasons for his bad ODI average is, he never used to get a chance to get death over wickets like other bowlers

So in a way you are correct. Bhuvi was a trundler under Dhoni. Under Kohli he is a proper medium pace bowler

Lol he demoralized bhuvi by calling him he is bowling to survive in other words selfish  in live press conference at Bangladesh 2015   he couldn't manage a single trundler let alone paaast bowlers

Bhuvi used to bowl 6-7 overs under Dhoni per match. Never used to be given death overs at all.
