fineleg
For ODIs (and add T20s if you want that too, but mainly for ODIs): If for whatever reason team management has to pick ONLY one legspinner - then who is higher in the pecking order and why? Is it due to better bowling abilities? (or fielding? YC better there?) Or do you play both wrist-spinners in 11 ahead of finger spinners (Axar Patel, Jaddu, Washington Sundar...) sandeep
For LOI cricket, as of now, Chahal. He's more experienced and has proven himself to be more effective in restricting scoring as well as taking wickets. @Pollack Vk1 and Frustrated 2 Link to comment

SUMO
chahal because he is more reliable in the crunch moments of the game. both are equally good wicket takers but chahal gives more control to stop the runs. his 2 overs for 8 runs in a 8 over game recently against NZ was marvellous. Ellipsism
Kuldeep has an infinitely higher ceiling. Can potentially end his career as one of the modern greats of the game. Edited December 14, 2017 by Ellipsism Link to comment
SK_IH
its apparent he is the 1st choice spinner for this team management and deservingly so,he shows his experience every now n then ,kuldeep is a back up Link to comment

beetle
I think chahal is the smarter one. Link to comment
Cricketics
Kuldeep has a lot of weapons but he is very inconsistent with it. Chahal even though limited weapons is a smarter bowler and has more control. In cricket just like in batting, you can have all the shots but person with the better temperament and shot selection usually prevails over one who looks has more shots. Similarly at this time, Chahal is better untill Kuldeep, who has a lot more weapons, finds control and consistency in his bowling. Link to comment

Exactly that’s why Chahal for LOIs is a no brainer but you you need those variations and turn the ball so Kuldeep over Chahal for tests because Chahal is not a huge turner of the ball or neither is he the Kumble type flipper type leg spinner . Both bowl leg breaks though both are not big turners and both have googlies. Just that kuldeep does it with his left hand. Link to comment

Neither is Kuldeep a big turner of the ball nor he has anymore variations than what Chahal has. It is just a perception just because he is a left arm leg spinner. He has a flipper and googly from what I have seen...he can produce wicket taking deliveries...not saying Chahal is a 100% defensive bowler but Chahal relies more on batsman’s mistakes than the magical delivery....Chahal in Odis is what Jadeja is in tests. Not really, Chahal operates according to the pitch. he adjusts well and he too has googly and flipper. Link to comment
