Navdeep Saini bowling with genuine pace now ( Fastest of 152.9 kph )

Excerpt from an article --

"At the higher level, you need to bowl with patience. Only patience can take you forward. It's my strength. Like on a pitch like we saw today, the plan was to bowl wicket to wicket and aim for lbws and bowled."

Saini's natural area of operation is on the fuller side of a good length. He felt bowling with the tennis ball in his formative years helped him become good at it. "When you play with the tennis ball, you get hit a lot," he said. "To escape from that you have to bowl yorkers at the stumps. Constantly doing that has helped me develop those muscles that come into play while bowling yorkers. When you bowl with a leather ball the full length ball skids a lot more, it kicks off the surface like in the dismissals today.

"My arm-speed is very fast. So I can't build up my body structure a lot bigger than now, because if I do that my arm-speed will come down. As I am training, my speed develops. The more you bowl, the better your bowling muscles develop."

That’s a big call that

bk shami and bumrah . Who you dropping ?

Maybe squad possibly but not team .

My playing 11 for first test against England

1. Vijay

2. Rahul

3. Pujara

4. Kohli

5. Rahane

6. Ashwin

7. Saha

8. Bhuvi

9. Shami

10. Saini

11. Bumrah

India have looked like a different test team abroad when we have fielded 4 specialist fast bowlers in the 3rd test in SA.  If the track is flatter, this formula will be even more helpful.  Bhuvi's improvement with the bat will help us even more with this composition.

Bumrah is quality . Has to play

Even if he wasn't, the point being skiddy swing/seam bowlers are more useful in England.

N.B: That, however, in no way means Hit the deck bowlers are useless in England like, say, Finger spinners are in Australia.

you need a combination of both. One-dimensional attack isn't good anywhere. Hit the deck bowlers are useful once the ball gets older and to bring variety to push the batsmen back and England do have some hard surfaces as well like the Rosebowl, Old Trafford and Chester Lee Street Durham.

Yes.   Our pace attack must have sufficient variety to take care of different conditions that may present themselves over the course of 5 days.   Like the Lords test in 2014, when the pitch was a green mamba for the first 2 days but became hard and flattish during the last 2 days and needed hit-the-deck bowling to take wickets.
