Sunil Gavaskar targets Team India's Cheteshwar Pujara, R Ashwin over fielding

Found this while reading about Pujara. It was published 2 weeks back.
While India’s slip-fielding remains a concern, Gavaskar was not too pleased with Ashwin and Pujara’s fielding in the outfield.

"He looks like a car that runs with a handbrake on," Gavaskar, who was commentating, said on Pujara as he chased a ball to the boundary rope.

However, Pujara was not the only one who received flak for his fielding effort on Wednesday. Gavaskar was equally critical of Ashwin’s efforts.

"There's intent but not much progress," chuckled Gavaskar, who was on air commentating on the match.

There was, in fact, an incident when Ashwin’s fielding did not please Ravindra Jadeja as he could not stop a Roshen Silva drive and earned the Sri Lankan batsman a four on the final day of the Test.

With high standards of fielding being set by captain and other players in test cricket, it sucks to see lazy players like Pujara and Ashwin falling behind.

They are not lazy...

Just like Laxman, they have limitations over speed...

If they were lazy then they wouldn't have had any stamina

Will he ever target the catching of Kohli, Dhawan, Sharma, etc? As bad as Ash and Che are in ground fielding they aren't the biggest problems as far as catching goes, esp Che who has developed into a gun close in catcher. We don't mess up test matches because of bad ground fielding, that has solely to do with our horrendous catching. Besides both these wonderful matchwinners don't play ODIs/T20s...so what's the fuss about? Jadhav is a bad outfielder and a bad catcher and a regular in white ball cricket, did him being Marathi have anything to do with escaping Sunny's wrath? When was the last time the Mumbai lobby talked about Rahane's decline as a batsman? KL Rahul isn't even discussed by this biased lobby, but Rahane is presented as a soultion to our white ball woes. Sab bike hue hai. There is no place for truth and justice in the present set up, we have reached the nadir under the present establishment.

Old man gone senile. Is there anything sensible coming from him these days. What is this obsession with fielding these days. All eleven players cannot be great fielders. Not even SA or Aus have that. And fielding does not mean only ground fielding. What about catching? Captain fitness obsessed Kohli leads from the front in dropping those.

Complaining about ground fielding while our captain and his buddies are dropping dolly catches in slips

Sunil Gavaskar always talk sh*t these days. Sometime back he said Rahane should be in T20s instead of Rahul and I commented on a facebook post of Times Now channel. Then his fans or so called cricket bhakts of India who just follow cricket blindly for their stars and don’t know anything actually about cricket started using abusive language. I stopped commenting on Facebook regarding cricket because Facebook is full of retards. We surely lack knowledgeable people like in Australia or England who criticise for right things and don’t talk sh*t.

He is now acting as the mouthpiece of "management" throwing harsh words at players they don't like.

Now acting ???? Being doing this for years !!!  Bcci put him on salary , that’s no secret openly stated by all . What you think they paid him and shastri to criticise bcci , skipper and managt? His comm during dhoni era was one of saddest things you could see , seems just carrying this on . Sad really . Guy is a legend . But all i feel like doing is punching him in the face !
