2016-2017 Best Home season ever?

One hell of a grand home season has ended. India have ticked most boxes. The Opponents on few occasions were so-so but regardless the boys have done their job.

Was this the best home season ever?

For us hell yeah. All time definitely no, WI and Aus in their prime years wouldn't even drop matches. 

 

In terms of satisfaction the 2015 series against SA was right up there with Aus 2017 but unfortunately we lost the ODIs and T20s.

Talking about tests it was a wonderful season. Undoubtedly the best one for us. Wins at home against top test sides should never be ignored or looked down upon. Team has become much more aggressive & plays an attacking brand of cricket. The test series which we used to win 1-0 or by 2-1 in the past have become 3-0,4-0 etc.

Spin twins have done very well, overseas teams sweat a lot about Ash & Jaddu, now with Kuldeep its more dangerous. Saha has done very well. Fabulous work.

Vijay, Rahane, Pujara continue to provide stability and Kohli was in supreme form barring the Australian series.  

Pune loss against Aus was a blemish  and we should've won at Ranchi despite their epic blockathon. These were my only gripes. 

Mumbai and Chennai test wins against England was memorable. Even they didn't expected to lose those matches.

Apart from CT Trophy final, Kohli's record so far as captain has been almost flawless (almost taking results into consideration).

The biggest satisfaction was beating the poms ,you could see it coming,India was playing some clutch cricket at their peak

we should take more pride . We so apologetic winning at home and players doing well at home . Other countries go bonkers over home perfoamnves and hype their guys to sky based on home performances .

That fightback in Bangalore by Pujara and Rahane and then the victory in Dharamshala is bittersweet. And also winning all those games against England despite them scoring 400 + is mighty impressive.

growing up seeing david johnson and dodda ganesh ( i m 37) makes me feel so proud to see fast bowlers dime a dozen ( 5 awesome 5 about to awesome)
