Khejroliya looking settled now. Bowling quicker, hovering around 137 consistently. He was bowling more around 132 in his previous spell.

he needs to increase his runup a few paces, he will bowler quicker with less effort.

Jaffer can still walk into Indian test side in home games and average at least 45. Guy is that good at home. Most Indian bats are that good at home. Clearly there is too much competition to select players at home as most can do well like we saw how Dhawan and co kept scoring runs. As soon as we go away, is when things get found out.

not really. Jaffer has been very average even in ranji trophy and he used to struggle against test bowling attacks in tests even at home when he played for India.  he was a just another domestic legend.

Average because he is not the same player anymore. But you bring these Lankan attacks anyone will score against them, and Jaffer or even Kaif can walk into Indian test side and score runs. Batting against Lankans even though not walk in the park, but is fairly easy for most Indian bats in India.

not really. you are overrating present Jaffer.  He has struggled in Ranji too. Kaif too has struggled big time in Ranji trophy in recent years.  If they have struggled in domestic then how they will do well in test cricket even if against SL.

This Lankan team is going through lot of changes. Not all there present 11 players are necessary any better than Indian past players who are flopping now in Ranji.

Lankan newbies playing test cricket and international doesn't make them automatically better than some of the players in Indian domestic cricket.

its not about just skills but at test level it is more about pressure.

yes, and these Lankan players who played against India aren't really automatically better than some of the Indian domestic players, young, or older tested and tried players. That's the point being made when I mentioned Jaffer.

Very impressed with Pant's keeping

Some flying takes

But I was told he's not in dhonis league and that's why we have been playing a specialist wk in t20s for the last 7 years.

agree that now jaffer is a grand old man playing cricket just like me but he played tests for INDIA and opened and possibly was replaced by gambhir or sehwag at a time when jaffer was a run machine....he was good for sure ..perhaps very good and could have played for india more.

At early stage its important to have failures to, this will make him a better cricketer

still getting out of average trundlers of average away going balls and that also draggin his bat and not hitting an away going delivery indicates carelessness.

when i batted coach said , i used to always play away balls naturally , he told me not to drag the bat but hit the ball not snick the ball.

pant was snicking some balls and that was not impressive ..looked loose batsman for test cricket.

he didnt get out to the bowler he got out to his mindset, which doesnt look in great place.

IMO- as of now let him concentrate on him game, dnt out captaincy burden on him even if he wins this final. He is one of the most exciting potentials , let him work his game out 1st

Agree on his potential...based on my experience its temperament and Skills that produce better results..pujara's potential in hitting balls is average , actually his square cuts are weak and Slow where as rishabh hits rockets...but temparement is what counts.

i agree his potential is very high ..his talent is very high but there are many who are truly talented who fail but hard working trible like rahane, pujara ,wasim jaffer, gambhir Score Big and make big Names....

i remember of a SIX Master, left hand batsman who was about to play for india but could not play as his talent was high but temparement not upto the mark.
