Very irresponsible knock by Rishabh Pant in both inn (Ranjji FINALS 2017-18)

The guy is just going through some lack of self confidence. He was picked in the Indian team and dropped for no reason. Then he is pushed into captaining a heavily political association called Delhi cricket. He is a player that thrives on confidence. I hope to see him play IPL and given the right opportunities, he can succeed. He should still very much be the top choice for replacing Dhoni in T20s.

Lol Long way to go.? The kid's good. Going through some loss of form and the knives are out.

No knives at all

but it’s a fact he is not ready for international cricket . At moment just tries to whack every ball . Has not learnt at all to bat in different match situations and conditions

he is young and seruius talent . Will play and do well for india one day . But that day could be now in years rather then months . Kid needs to work hard

by the way dhoni still needs to take a hike . Others there . But pant at most can play t20s right now , maybe someone who walks in and tries to hit 6 from first ball is no bad thing in this format

All of you guys being critical of him - do you even realize what the match situation was? Delhi's best chance at winning the trophy was if they batted aggressively, put decent amount of runs on the board in a short time and then give Vidarbha two and a half sessions on the final day with a score in excess of 170-180 to chase. In that respect, he was right in trying to up the scoring rate. If he would have just batted on without any purpose and scored a drab 100 off 300 balls, that would have meant that the match was dead and Vidarbha would be champions. Remember, first innings lead was sufficient for Vidarbha to win the trophy. Ranji Trophy knock-outs are not like Test series where a draw means that both teams get equal points.

It’s not about this one knock

It is because everybody is only talking about this knock and this match. He scored tons of runs last season, did decently in the couple of chances he got in internationals and yet he finds himself dumped out of the Indian team in favor of a useless hack who has been trying to keep and bat for a decade now and is still a big flop (DK)

Not his best season. He needs to work hard on his batting. Won’t judge on his 2nd inning dismissal because Delhi was running out of time so he he had to go for quick runs to make any game of it.

He is still someone who can be given a chance in ODI’s but for now I will give Saha a longer run in test as he is doing a fine job.

I would may be give Dehi’scaptaincy to someone like Himmat Singh or Manan Sharma Mannan Sharma and let Pant concentrate on keeping and batting .

I hope we continue to see see progress among all three keepers - Samson, Kishan and Pant. This is a good competition for back up to Saha for test and replacing Dhoni in LoI.

Pant will have learned a lot about the game having had the experience of leading Delhi. Now it is a matter of Delhi fixing its politics and surrounding him with good coach, couple of good experienced players etc. Either that or she get out and join a club with a better setup.

Look pant is the future and will make it one day . But let’s not pretend that he is very young and very raw . His shot spection is very bad sometimes and his match situation awareness is poor at the moment

but he will learn from this dip and get better for this

just wish he was not skipepr and could focus on his own issues . Yet as skipepr has to worry about everyone else’s issues

whoever made him skipepr needs shooting

Did you watch pant bat ? Guy had no plan. His idea of playing spinner step out and take a hit on body. I don’t know what you mean by chukis but if it meant dhoni or kartik then sure I’ll take them over pant today. Samson should get a go way ahead of pant. Recall Patel or even Saha but pant is not ready. You read whatever you want to.

Sshhh. You can’t point out Pant’s batting flaws or rate Samson higher.  That’s blasphemy on ICF

I seriously feel for guys like Manoj Tiwary. He gets behind the ball better than lot of the sloggers we have in domestic.

IPL has ruined our player  development, who wants to work on proper technique when you get millions for hitting the ball out of the ground?

Of course you can but when you do rate Samson higher make sure his stats support it as well which you failed to do so and rightly called out.

Another ICFer did.

And Pant’s off side game or the lack of it didn’t seem to matter at all? Even a rookie Ranji bowler saw that and was able to capitalize. Two similar balls outside off, both cowlashed, one luckily fell in the gap and rolled over to the boundary, the other was caught

Only if Samson was a player of mumbai/karnataka :cantstop:  Sanju scores 2 100s in IPL ignored.. pant played extraordinary shots over cowcorner in 1 match against great Gujarat bowling.. Hype hype hype :elefant: If you point out his offside game and hacking... you are "insecure"

Not only his off side game, he plays short ball awkwardly......bowlers with good pace will trouble him for short pitch stuff

Dnt blame IPL, u do not make such a young player a captain of a messed up state ....specially when he is trying to figure out his game

another overhyped player like Hardik, his only shot is a ugly hoick to cow corner, has very little game outside OFF and will never be a international player if he doesnt vastly overhaul his game.

how is hardik overhyped?

he wudnt have stood a chance in international cricket for long, his 100 was against Wi only

Time n again he screwed his chances against Bang n Zimb......his batting against short pitch was worse then raina .
