India needs an able partner for Bhvi as he is the only one looks good with new ball.  Ishant, Shami, Pandya, Bumra none of them are good enough with new ball. This is where we miss a genuine swing bowler like Zaheer. Imagine Zak and Bhuvi opening the spell here or even RP singh. It would have been all over for SA now.

You don't need a swing bowler but seam bowler who can bowl right areas. None of the bk's wickets were due to swing but seam off the deck.

Yes but don't forget pitches at home don't offer much for pacers especially genuine pacers like shami, despite that those are some impressive averages.

Our pacers tend to do well at home. Kapil, Srinath, Ishant, Shami, Bhuvi, Yadav all have better averages at home.

Didn't watch the match. But commentary suggests there was a bit of movement.

0.3 and India strike in the first over! A perfect comeback from Bhuvneshwar. After two leg side deliveries, he finds the one that seams away.

2.6 given! Two wickets in two overs from Bhuvneshwar. Markram doesn't review. And India have two in three overs. This one has seamed back in prodigiously after pitching, the previous ones moved away.

4.5 135 kph, Amla edges off and South Africa are tottering! Good length outside off, it moves away late, but Amla rather inexplicably jabs at it.

May be it is kookaburra thing. Did they practice enough with those balls?

No don't think so they practice with kookaburra ball enough, but the point of the thread is those horrific 73 and 49 avg. op has mentioned was in 2014 when shami was not shami and was struggling with his length and pace,he has worked on all his shortcoming since then, yes fitness let's him down but its unnecessary to bash shami on that.

Frankly missing your point bro on this!! What's your point how its related to this thread ??  Avg. 73/49/ that op mentioned was in 2014, he has improved since then, so its unnecessary to bash him now on that, also I guess this is his first major series away from home since his improvement.

Yes, seam movement

he needs to bowl fuller ...back-of-length  only works in sub-continent..also tries too hard to get lbw ,coz of which gets flicked for fours

He actually was bowling Fuller and needs to pull his length back. None of BK's wickets were on full deliveries. Ball doesn't swing in SA, so, needs to make use of seam movement.
