There is no way you go in countries like SA, Eng, Aus, NZ and have a good test match without having any practice match. No matter how good you are, you need that little time to fine tweaking and tuning in your batting. Ball was little swinging in Dharmasala and we folded cheaply against Lanka.. and we are talking about SA attack here. Most test specialists were not playing in Dharmsala Link to comment

You won't get a single pitch like dharmshala in SA. You can't judge on that dharmshala pitch. That was a minefield Link to comment
prinzo
Reason I am saying this is because since they arrived in south Africa the players have more Instagram pics and twitter of them in Cape Town at tourist attractions. Aside from the obligation of net practising they have every day. This tour looks like a nice holiday for the players and their families who traveled business class and enjoying the sights and sounds of beautiful Cape Town. I understand that they need a break from cricket also and need to go out and stuff. But from what I see it's only easy hell of a vacation and enjoyment of all expenses paid for trip. What are your views Edited January 4, 2018 by prinzo Link to comment

vvvslaxman
They take it seriously. Did they prepare seriously. I am not sure. Can't blame them. This SL series was an irresponsibly scheduled series. India needed sometime out there ahead of the series. Instead They had to play a full blown serires (Tests,ODI, freakign T20 series) with Srilanka. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
I fancy us to win first test . not sure why . Just feel it lol Link to comment
WeStMiDz
No they are definitely there for just a holiday. How dare they post non cricket related stuff on their social medias. What a bunch of unprofessional sportsmen. King Tendulkar 1 Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Utter disgrace by Indian players . So you guys are telling me that they are going online while in sa and thinking about others things apart from cricket ! disgusting . They shoudl not even be allowed to talk to each other unless it’s about cricket . As that is the key to victory sarcastic, adi B and sandeep 3 Link to comment

What are your views Omg so when they got down time they are actually enjoying being in a foreign country . Disgrace ! They shoudl after practice go straight to their rooms . Of course while in room can’t go online unless cricket related . But stay in room and stare at ceiling , as that’s the key to success Link to comment
cowboysfan
We are definitely undercooked for the first test and one of the reasons we should bowl first if we win the toss. Link to comment

But stay in room and stare at ceiling , as that’s the key to success Hmm let us see...,from the day they arrived, end of December to the first test ...let us say 7 days....take out 1 day for New Year’s Eve party and recovery from it...so 6 days. A normal healthy human being needs 8 hours of sleep every day...if they are not getting that than we have a problem but let us say they are getting it so that is 40 hours....add all other personal hygiene stuff, eating, and other personal needs over a period 7 days as 8 hours(conservative estimate due to the water problem) So 48 hours that is 2 more days. so that leaves us with 4 days. now let us take out 2-3 hours of gym each day over 7 days mandatory for any athlete....so give our take another day- So leaves us with 3 days. Now poor team need a stress buster so let us say 1 day is spent in sightseeing,Twitter,Instagram and face book- so 2 days. So you are telling me 48 hours is enough to prepare for South Africa in South Africa That is the effort people put in to score atleast 35% in my exams leave alone excelling in a very difficult challenge.
