We have given enough chances to Ishant. Bumrah in South Africa isn't a bad option to be continued even though overall Ishant might be better test bowler for other conditions etc. Anyways, Ishant hasn't done anything special to comeback into bowling line up that did pretty well in the first test Link to comment

In a bowling line up as steady as ours we need an X factor bowler like him. Edited January 10, 2018 by Gollum sarcastic 1 Link to comment
Khota
Ishant needs to be part of the rotation. It makes no sense to write him off. maniac and Gollum 1 1 Link to comment

Bhuvi has made into team as a regular. Bumrah comes in from nowhere. Shami is in and out. Mostly out. But is in team now. Link to comment
Pollack
Patience Indian people have on this talentless (no offense) bowler is mind blowing because theh feel he is a workhorse whatever batsh!T it means. I don't think they are SA/Aus level good but they are a well rounded attack. Put an Ishant in place of Bumrah and you will get the variety also. Link to comment
maniac
A genuine match winner...yeah he can have an off day but it is not like the rest of the bowlers are epitome of consistency barring Bhuvi. On a bowlers paradise like the one we got SA would have been bundled for a lower 1st innings score...no exaggeration...check how he outbowled every bowler including Zak on bowling friendly pitches in our last set of tours in 2013. People just hate a few players for the heck of it. Edited January 10, 2018 by maniac Link to comment

I think people hate him cause he is the only specialist bowler who has been allowed to take 200+ plus wickets at an average over 33. and with strike rate close to 70 to boost. Had ishant played the last match and took out devilliers twice as well as decok and faf no one here would want ishant to be dropped. Even his biggest critics. The hate he gets is based on his horrible stats. Link to comment

Indeed stats sometimes hide a lot but with those pathetic stats there is nothing can be hidden. He is poor. His spell to ponting cost us a lot and now his spell in Lords is costing us another decade of mediocrity. Link to comment

Ishant has been giving false hopes for the past decade! You can't fault people for wanting to move on. Below are his averages. Just when it seemed he was getting back in business, had an awful year in 2017. Story of his life. 2012: 75.6 2013: 48.2 2014: 31.4 2015: 31.5 2016: 28.7 2017: 37.7 He is still the 4th choice pacer but I don't think he can replace any of Bhuvi, Shami, Bumrah after the way they bowled on 4th day.
