Similar Hack like Maxwell couldn't even make into ODI team anymore.. Pretty much same situation. Atleast he doesn't slog everything to cowcorner.

pant is a keeper/bat, maxwell isn't. If maxwell was a keeper, he would be preferred ahead of Paine and Wade any day in ODIs. i think you dont even have this basic understanding of cricket.

also pant has played one less match and just 12 runs behind BHui.

Ricky Bhui is not a keeper.

So what ? batting spot Still up for grabs in LOI team :flute: and that keeping spot in LOIs will be there for Dhoni till 2019.. Its bit obvious he won't be played in Overseas Tests.. They are will go back to some experienced cricketers like Patel, DK or whoever.. Unless you are living in your own dilutional world where pant is everything..

There is only spot up for grabs in LOIs and that is keepers. No other slot is open.

Pant is competing for Keeper slot with Dhoni and should replace him at least in T20s.

:flute: competing ? I highly doubt that.. Last time he was selected he played at #3 how so exactly is he competing ??? This guy is a Top order batsmen that's it

This... poor agenda makers trying to target someone else for Kohli not backing hacks..

We need a cowlasher down the order. Batting position doesn't matter. Even Sachin started his career in the middle order. Dhoni's cowlashing has become weak. Not saying Pant is better at the moment (in ODIs), just saying it's not gonna make a big difference. Pant and Dhoni are a like for like comparison IMO, however there's a DK in between :P

Where in your dilutional world ? They have already confirmed Dhoni ll play till 2019 minimum. So what exactly are you preparing for ?

Rohit

Dhawan

Kohli

Dhoni

Pandya

Bhuvi

Bumrah

2 spinners

4/6 Batsmens I listed will defo play in 2019 WC.. So basically we have 2 spots players are playing for.

Rohit in his last interview has confirmed DK in our new finisher  so there we go..

Dhoni has to to from T20s .

Pant can still play in ODI's as a batsmen , when DK can play I see no reason why Pant cant . My point was , hes better off in the top order . I can see him play the role of Sehwag for us .

Well so would Shahid Afridi, except bowlers at the international level aren't as stupid as he is to keep bowling to his strengths. :giggle:

So let them bowl offside. :giggle:

Where's the issue? Who says bowlers at any level would bowl only one side. If you read my post carefully I am not even saying he has no offside game. He has. You are having delusion of his weak offside because he goes for big shots(aerial not drives) for scoring and naturally he will pick leg side.Almost all yuvi's sixes are on leg side. And this kid looks to hit everything so legside will be more prominent.

So which 20 year old have great skill sets?

Almost every 20-year-old that rises to the top in India has a solid skill set based on the simple fact that they're not a hack like Pant. Our system produces much better batsmen than him.

If you think I'm delusional, I think you've not even watched him bat outside of highlights. The kid can barely score singles on the off side, let alone boundaries. He is a bonafide hack and not only is that going to be exposed, but he's going to look very stupid doing it.

Actually wanted to use word illusion. No idea how end up writing delusion.

yeah like Dhoni with amazing skill sets. :giggle:  Even Kohli did not have great skill sets at 20 nor Yuvraj.  Tendulkar was the only batsman with a great skill set at 20 and Pant a is keeper batsman, not just a batsman.  When we talk about Dhoni, people give this same argument that he is a keeper batsman and not a specialist batsman and I agree with this.  I wont expect a keeper batsman to bat like a specialist batsman in test cricket.  it is just rare, very few have done that especially in overseas conditions. You have not even seen Pant much and already formed an opinion. these are still still formative years.

Both Kohli and Yuvraj were solid players at 20 even if not great. They had a brain, could adapt according to the situation and were not severely limited in their strokeplay. That's expecting too much from a hack who just swings at everything.
