Pujara needs to be dropped just for those runouts

I think people are being too harsh on Pujara here...
Granted he is a poor runner between wickets and it is a shame to be runout twice in a match, but let us be honest, he is far more valuable than say someone like Rohit Sharma in the middle order. He has that ability of an Akash Chopra to preserve his wicket on one end and let an aggressor take over on the other side.

Maybe something happened behind the scenes. Was he pressurized to show more intent? Convinced he needed those singles to get to good scores here?

This is so out of character for Pujara.

Dont mind him getting dropped but i find it hard to believe he became reckless all of a sudden.

Maybe this was because of a faulty thought process by Pujara. Or maybe its because of behind the scenes pressure.

This is the same guy who batted sooooo well and looked so solid in Cape Town first innings before playing a bad shot.

Pujara is different from the current generation of IPL batsmen. He doesn't have the swagger, cool or start quality that people become fans of. He does the hard graft, has limited array of shots but values his wicket like his life depended on it. Kohli needs to understand what each player brings to the team and build on it rather than expect everyone to imitate his brand of cricket.

Pujara seems the kind of guy who would brood for days if he lost his wicket.

Seeing him throw it away twice makes it suspicious.

Yes, yes, the only thing that needs to be done right now is kicking out the only player in the whole team who has the temperament to grind it out in the middle......  Zzzzz

Leave him alone and allow him to play his natural game. Taking quick singles or turning 2s into 3s isn't his game. Don't force him to do something which isn't natural to him.

I love his determination but need to show runs on the board.

He has one shot this series . Flick of leg ! That’s it no other shots

no drives , cuts, pulls . Nothing ! How can you play test cricket with one shot ?

His wagon wheel this series would look bizzare

I will be interested in seeing them. Cannot find them on Cricinfo. Can somebody post it here.

Notice how Pujara allows bowers to bowl a lot of deliveries on outside off

There are like 8-10 deliveries on pitching within stumps for him.

Pitch map for even Bhuvi was more spread

Pandya

Rohit Sharma did the same thing when he went into that 59 balls 11 runs inning

Both of them allowed bowlers to bowl too much at same line and length most of the time.

Well the problem is that the solution to throw them off their line seems to be ramp shots and lofted inside out shots...as much as Pandya was entertaining in the first test, the fact he attempted a ramp shot while trying to save the game shows his cricket awareness.

Cant just single him out but what happened to the brains of our batsmen...pakistani level of batting today.
