How not to play when trying to save a match

The pitch was a minefield and obviously a shot at winning it was out of the equation...instead of drunken advice like “go smaaash them” a simple strategy to save the game would have helped ...Look at the dismissals below especially from a team trying to save a game...didn’t watch the match this is from cricinfo commentary, so correct me of I am wrong.

so apart from Vijay,Kohli and Bumrah look at the other dismissals...are we playing tontee-tontee

Ngidi to Mohammed Shami, OUT, five wickets for Ngidi. What a show on debut fo this guy. He's hit India hard. Back of a length ball fired in at a middle stump line. Shami backing away again to try and make room for a slog. Ends up slicing it straight to Morkel who takes it with a reverse cup at mid-on. Standing ovation from the dressing room for Ngidi

Rabada to RG Sharma, OUT, looks like AB has taken it! Yes, it's clean! Superb. Loses control of a hook - it's a difficult pitch to get that shot right every time. Backing into the off side, manages to get under it and there's no room. Top edge hangs some 20 yards in front of AB at fine leg. He sprints quickly, goes low with a slide to pouch this and then gets up gracefully to toss the ball up and volley it in celebration

Ngidi to Ashwin, OUT, outside edge through to the keeper. Well, that's how you get Ashwin most times. Length ball, slight shape away outside off. He looks to drive through the line on the up, hardly a front foot stride in. It's elementary. Ngidi sprints away in delight, he's one away from a five-for on debut

Ngidi to Pandya, OUT, QDK leaps to his right and takes it one-handed. Ngidi wins the Pandya battle. They'd taken fly slip out. He bowled it short and very wide. Pandya has to reach out a long way to try and get it over the cordon with a ramp. Can't manage it. It's a thick outside edge

Rabada to Patel, OUT, oh Morne you beauty! He has pulled off a screamer at fine leg! Wow. Sprints to his right, lunges out with his big levers and manages to keep his elbow from slamming into the ground. That's all about balance from Morne - holds his hands up in the air as he slides on his hips. Short ball outside off, Parthiv gets behind the line and launches the hook shot. No chance of keeping that down because he's not on top of it, so he looks to go big. He hasn't connected well enough. Morkel's team mates are static when it's in the air...they're olympic sprinters when he's held on

Philander to Patel, 2 runs, OUT, Pujara is diving for his life at the striker's end as AB's throw comes in. He's risked a third. He looks to be out...yes, replays confirm it. Pujara is out run out for the second time in the Test. Well it certainly looks that way. The umpire is confirming with multiple angles...he's taking some time with it too...His bat is on the line as the bail comes off. It's not behind it...there it is. Don't know why it took so long. Parthiv had nudged this ball through gully, they'd picked up two and AB was chasing it from third slip. Picked up, swiveled, threw it on the bounce. QDK was quick with his hands as he broke the stumps. It was Ngidi who put in a slide at the boundary and parried the ball back to AB, chasing it from backward point.

Ngidi to Rahul, OUT, oh dear that is a terrible shot. Short of a length outside off. Half punch, half cut. A nothing jab in the end - ends up like a slice. It's a hard one to describe. The only thing that's clear is that he was very, very nervous playing that shot. Backward point didn't have to move

So many poor dismissals this series. Pathetic

Shouldn’t the first approach be block block

and block and then maybe see if we make any progress in the last session...where they trying to chase the target inside 30 overs lol.

Muddled heads all of them. Selection blunders, insecurity among batsmen reg their spots, BS intent talk (any other way to explain Che's suicidal running or Vijay's lack of patience?)....only Kohli played with his spot assured and intent suits his playing style.

So to summarize.... we saw an attempt at a hook shot, ramp shot, driving on the up, A slog,a quick single, an attempt at an inside out shot and a booming cut shot on the 4th and  5th day trying to save the game :hatsoff::hysterical:

Running out twice! Not even a brainfade, this. He has to be dropped just for accomplishing this feat. His style of batting was perfect on the best day for batting in the test and he squandered it in the first innings.

Plus he is a serial offender (Like Dada used to be)

Aggression that the Captain wants. That's what will keep them in team, not performances.
