maniac
Has overseas experience opening the batting and since we picked him, might as well use him for that role....will lend balance as we can play Pujara,Rahane,Kohli and Rohit with Pandya at 7 followed by Ash/Jaddu and Bhuvi at 8-9 that would be one heck of a line up. No man, why some more useless temporary oldies? At least use the opportunity to track potential for the future. DK is a known mediocre quantity who won't give you greatness or improve the test team in future. Link to comment

It is not what I want lol....it is what we have...Saha is injured and it is between Pappu and Dk anyways lol Pappu has proved to be useless and DK will be useless based on what we know but Since Pappu didn’t work out might as well try Karthik in a role he has done in the past. Also what has Kumar and Yadav got to do with picking an opening batsman Link to comment
Khota
karthick should be picked but should not open. Link to comment

Gollum
Is this 2018 or 2008? Suddenly looks like after all these years we have PP and Karthik as our options, . Shambles.... Link to comment
bowl_out
Not a bad option.. They bottom 5 have outscored the top 5 this series... As the ball gets older, it is easier to score.. Might as well have somebody weather out the new ball and have your run scorers play after 15-20 overs DK Vijay Rahul Virat Rahane Rohit Pandya Ashwin Bhuvi Shami Bumrah Link to comment
coffee_rules
kuch bhi..anything to get rohit in.. So, we 3 openers, but we need a fourth one now. After having invested in Rahul for 2 + years, he needs to be given 3 or 4 tests in a row.. beetle 1 Link to comment

Now he is 33 and Karthik too Cant expect them too have same reflexes.. we should have debuted one of the younger keepers in SL series Link to comment
Austin 3:!6
FGS nooooo. We have to stick with Vijay & Rahul. Incase we want to take a chance, I might open with Rohit (not kidding). His fate changed once he started opening in ODIs...who knows he may be a different batsman as an opener. Link to comment
coffee_rules
Other openers to try.. Pujara Rahane Ashwin Pandya Bhuvi Patel Link to comment

Pollack
Where do people get these crazy ideas from? Opening is a very imp position in tests cricket. Stick with specialists most of the times. Link to comment

Since all our openers have bombed why not??? Not as left field as people are thinking Link to comment
