Time will tell.On helpful tracks 4 bowlers are enough if not then play 5 with Pandya as one of the allrounder+ Ash & BK.

Shami and Bumrah are sure to play over Ishant now.

4 bowlers won't do the job. We have seen it time and again. I agree with you that if we get pitches like this one or even the first test, 4 bowlers are enough. But in England they usually make pitches that last 5 days and on those pitches 4 bowlers can't get it done. You need a decent 5th bowler to keep them fresh. That's been our main problem overseas. Also Pandya can bat better on decent tracks. Don't judge him by his performance on these pitches, even ABDV looked like a dud here most of the time.

Better than lords away win and i sense india will win more tests abroad this year. Ridiculous how SA conspired to make batting easier and almost succeeded.

This is kohli's india!

Series could have been won if kohli picked rahane and bhuvi for both tests and the batsmen stood up in both tests, but 2-1 is ok for now, this is the turning point potentially.

This match will be remembered for years. What a pace bowling attack when on song!

Well done Team India. Shami- you beauty, please dont go into hibernation mode again. This is the Shami we absolutely love.
Hats off to Virat, Rahane, Vijay, Bhuvi for batting courageously in the 2nd innings.
India needed a breakthrough, Amla's catch by Pandya was so vital in getting that.

This is why Kohli, despite his antics and occasional poor decisions is a far better test captain overseas than Dhoni. He's passionate about test cricket and that makes a huge difference.

Definitely .As I said earlier kohli on field is a great captain ,its the off field decision which cost us the series.under kohli you can feel we are always in the game and we always pick 20 wkts per tests.

Thank God the dark days under dhoni are over

This was bound to happen at some stage of last inng bcz chasing even 200 was nearly impossible under these conditions, all ind had to do was to show patience...

ind wasnt too good 1st inng; infact they were lucky when Pujara and Kohli got early chances and both ended up as inng top scorers however since then it was super effort from them to first get SA all out under 200 and then scoring themselves around 250 in 2nd inng which in my opinion was the main difference and a match winning effort! ... Many Congrats!

Thnx but in centurion we dropped around 6 catches and especially those of amla and faf in first innings by pappu patel ,we could have easily won there

Also a huge shout out to all Indian bowlers. They have taken all 60 wickets in 3 test matches. I appreciate their effort, even though I've criticised them a lot in the past. Our bowlers battled really hard against SA batter's in their home.

Another series loss. 1-2. Are we ever going to win a test series in SA.

This was a huge opportunity lost. Personnel wise we were as good as them in these conditions and that doesn't happen often. But when you transition from Indian pitches to SA pitches in a week without any practice match you can't really hope for a better result than this.

i feel india can win the series in England.only we need to replace Ishant (though he bowled well) with a good swing bowler.Winning a test in Aus may be highly difficult

1992,1996 and so on. Sab captain chuna lagake jate  hai. We will try our best. I am sorry to say the best what out cricketers give is not enough. This is not the first series we have failed to win in SA. That is what it hurts. In isolation one can say 1-2 is it happens kind of result. But for someone who has watched so many tours to SA it is pathetic overall.

I think Africans had rolled... Heavy rolled the wicket so much that all demons in wicket had died.. Only bcos we bowled 140+even with a 70 over ball wicket helped us later n amla elgar had very strong defensive technique.. Other Africans found shammi n bumrah too tuf.

Hoping they start looking at Vijay Shankar as an alternative for Pandya for England. Can be the No. 6 batsman who can give you 10-12 overs of medium pace swing bowling and get 1-2 wickets

No hardik is way better bowler than Vijay Shankar.

I'm saying on helpful tracks these 4 can do the job.No need of any spinner or Pandya. If not then play 3 seamers+Ash+Pandya. In England spinners come into play in 4th and 5th days.I'm not writing Pandya

off.I'm a big fan of his talent but hope he applies better from now on with the bat. He's surely good

enough. His bowling has it all to be a supporting bowler and get wickets too. He's the best fielder in the

team too.Somehow I feel he'll really do well in Australia.
