Turning point

The come back by Ind in the 2nd inning was simply superb esp considering the fighting performance on a pitch where SA was not willing to continue

While winning or losing is a part of the game,  it is heartening to see Ind put up the fight after being down and out. Could this be the turning point where Ind will finally become highly competitive overseas?

While we have blamed Kohli for his selection and tactical blunders, his fighting qualities may have finally rubbed on to the team. And there are “never say die” cricketers in the 11 such as Pandya, who actually started the fight in the first test, in the team to keep the spirit high even when facing adversity

Could this be the beginning of something special for team Ind? The Ind that is not turned off at the sight of green mamba. Where The batsmen fight it out and bowlers give back too.  If this translates in to planting the seeds for a team that fights and does not believe in giving up, this test series is already a success! Better late than never

Let’s see how things shape up ....

Hope so bro. In form batsmen can do well overseas, but an out of form batting order led the way this time on a treacherous track copping many body blows. I legit expected us to be 30/4 yesterday evening and get bowled out for under 150, but boy have they impressed me. Real grit and character to get us into a winning position. Just hope our catching improves.

Mistakes keep happening on all tours. That is the problem with Indian test team. It has been for long we used to always loose the first test. It always boils down to preparation .

Its surely is the begining. It will be the stepping stone to the massive victories which are coming soon in England and Australia.

We are not going to lose any test in England and will destroy even Australia at their home.

Boys are playing well.

Tics, such high optimism kaise?

Feeling something special coming. Kohli and Bowlers doing great. Rahane already said he is hungry for runs in 2018.

Bhuvi bowlinng great, Bumrah has started well in tests and them you have Shami and some good talent waiting tog wt chance to play.

Which is why I asked if this is a turning point in our cricket where the team believes that it can be highly competitive overseas. Once it believes that it would start to sharpen itself further for these tours

An example that I can think of is the Aus side in early 90s. West Indies was on decline but still a force in tests. Aus vs WI tests used to be competitive which gave Aus confidence. Later, Aus went on to take the top spot.  Similarly, if Ind can start focusing on making every series competitive (win a test here and there), sooner or later, a series win would materialize, which will give the team further confidence

2003-2011 was the period where we were most competitive away.Drawn series in Aus.Should have won in Aus in 2008.Dominated SA in sa drawn series.won in Eng,NZ,Pak.

Won’t be much of a turning point as it looks like India going to white washed 3-0

more like back to square one

This is more from the perspective of a change in attitude and approach to plant seeds for being highly competitive which in turn would also improve scorecard results

PS if Ind loses fighting, not many would mind
